I've heard you guys complain about UPS and now they got me. I've been sitting here expecting the black sparkle Ray Travis sent to me on Monday. I kept noticing the status tracking window never left Georgia.

Just now I got this:

AN INCORRECT ROUTING AT A UPS FACILITY CAUSED THIS DELAY;THE PACKAGE WAS MISSORTED AT THE HUB. IT HAS BEEN REROUTED TO THE CORRECT DESTINATION SITE

They're only asked to ship a package, and they can't ship a package. I hope FedEx eats their lunch. And Dale Jarret seems like such a nice guy.

Just recv'd 11 boxes yesterday at the store...9 of which were beat to heck, 2 of which contain broken product and a driver that didn't feel it necessary to mark 'damaged' on the electronic invoice so he told me call head office, I can't mark damaged with this form...... so yesterday was wasted going through 11 boxes/contents/tracking numbers/a collective 40min. on hold on the phone/etc. ...... fun. They are usually ok but I guess our normal driver is on holiday.....

I guess next time I'll just refuse the delivery and see how those apples go down.

I've shipped well over 1,000 basses via UPS Ground and never lost a single one and the only time I ever experienced any damage was due to my laziness in making sure the bass didn't flop around inside the case. YMMV

Dude, the box that at one point contained an intact neon sign looked like it had been kicked, dropped, utility knifed, etc. . The packaging from the manufacturer is great packaging, for some reason their stuff arrives here fairly beat up on the outside. UPS is one of my more favoured shippers out there(aside from their brokerage fees extortion at the border :p ) but that aside most of the big boys are good but yesterday was just brutal. And for a powered mixer that is packed tight in styro foam corners, 2 complete boxes and such and for it to have a corner that is pushed in and a back heatsink/power amp section to be buckled out......... that was some kinda nasty fall.
anywho, UPS good shippers, yesterday...1 bad shipment out of a number of great dealings with them.

They moved the delivery date for my new cab from 2/16 to 2/17. I was unhappy - but it wasn't a biggie.

My new ACID loops just showed up at my Apartment. 2 days standard shipping from Wisconsin to Georgia. Luck is with me this day.

Of course, UPS did manage to demolish my guitar player's 1998 Gibson Historic Reissue 335 into about a billion pieces and crack the hardshell case from end to end even though it was double boxed. So, I guess it really is a crapshoot.

One thing to keep in mind is that 2/14 - V Day - is the single busiest day in the shipping world because of all the flowers. Also, the snowstorm in the northeast put a wrinkle in the system.

I'm not trying to make excuses for Brown, it's just that here at FedEx our hub is completely overrun with flower boxes Monday night which can cause some sorting and bulked out flights/trucks. You wouldn't believe it unless you saw it.

Hope it all works out well!

Well I nervous now, I've got two basses shipping soon, one from B-C and one from Dude and both use Brown.... I think. Anyone have any idea if next day air is less banging around than by ground? It's only more money.

Hey Dude, do ya know if anything red has been shipped to you that's coming to me?:D

And is it too late for the no lick upcharge?

Dargin dinged my card on Monday so I expect it tomorrow. As for the no-lick upcharge that's not a problem because I was planning on posing with it nude except for cowboy boots.

Ya want me to FedEx you a red pair of boots?

Actually, I have a dusty pair of green snakeskins I was planning on dusting off but I could use a pair of tighty whities.
