Can I? I sure hope I can :( Help a loyal customer out please Mr Sterling :( If everything goes to plan on monday and I get the job then i'll be working for a major upcoming popular artist anyway so you'll need to send me something to play on tour ;) Even in the darkest times I try and keep my sense of humour :(. Might have to borrow a friend's five string otherwise which is not a MM...

You can order from EBMM. I've purchased one in the past.

Ask if you can just order the part that you need instead of the whole thing. It's easy to replace the parts and they're interchangeable (you just have to flip the tuner peg).

You are going to have to cut off the string before removing it, hope it wasn't a new B.

+1

I've ordered a replacement tuning assembly from EBMM and it was very inexpensive and easy to install.

Good Luck, and get a stand while you are at it! ;)

Don't panic Alex, can you get to a music store? Perhaps a luthier close by if you find one and are not comfortable to do it yourself. Anyone at the school that can give you a hand? Good luck and let us know! And yes, get a stand!!!!!!!

I think I'm gonna get the schaller but do I get the left or right one? (it says left or right on the thomann site)

(as I said before it's for the low B string). I have a stand back home in Paris but didnt bring it here because my room is too small, but I guess I might have to make the room.

It doesn't matter as they are interchangeable. You just take it apart and flip the tuner peg around (only 3 parts, well 4 if you count the screw). You could probably just replace the part that broke and use the original plate.

Can you borrow one off the school bass to get you through the audition?

BTW Strings and Things should be able to sort you out - my son managed to bend the G tuner on his leftie SR4 through 90 degrees - I guess the drummer moved his bass at some point (sorry drummers but it's usually your fault!!!) - S and T sent one out in the post - arrived the following day - to quote them - they sent a right hand B, E, A, D for it ;) - I can't recommend them too highly they're a great distributor.
