koogie2k said:As for distribution, it is impossible for EBMM to set a standard worldwide price. How can they? They do not control the economics of any country. That is simply the way it is. Then, the dealer can ask whatever price he/she wants. That cannot be controlled either. EBMM only puts an MSRP (key word - suggested) and it is up to the dealer to sell the guitar/bass at a price they deem.

Knox said:I disagree....I'm currently searching for another EBMM and this time its a LUKE....I wouldn't even consider going to my dealer to get one......the retail price at the monent for a LUKE standard over here in the UK is touching on £1400 GBP....is that the MSRP for EBMM guitars set for the UK? I'm pretty sure it isn't! How much more profit does EBMM get from UK Dealers when orders are placed. The MRSP in the US is half what it is in the UK so that equates to 200% profit for UK sourced instruments?
That rougly equates to nearly $3000 .....![]()
I don't think thats fair or justified under any circumstances......how am I helping EBMM over here in the UK by constantly buying from the US.....anyone who can and does buy new in the UK and Europe must be mad.....or else doesn't care that they are paying over the odds (nearly double) for an instrument not worth the retail price in the UK/Europe.
A $1500 JP or Luke or Axis etc should cost the equivalent in the UK regardless of TAX or VAT....then maybe I wouldn't need to risk my hard earned on Flea Bay or dealing with strangers over the net....![]()
A can of Coke in the US costs the same in the UK...economies of scale and all that?
