Right Knuckleheads, you have a SERIOUS oppertunity here, BP has very kindly agreed that if we can get 50 or more Knucklheads to agree to purchase a limited run of the same spec he'll build it - (HOW COOL IS tHAT!)

YES - you read this correctly! - for the history read my other thead http://www.ernieball.com/forums/mus...-poppa-blind-lemon-post690897.html#post690897

To my knowledge this has never been done here before, and you have a chance to be part of it- Post what you want in this thread, if you ask for a pink Axis with black hardware with built in iphone and loo roll holder you're wasting your time, the uniqueness will need to be a finish/gold hardware - or something that means EBMM doesn't need to re-tool to do it. - maybe you want a special colour or maybe you want a KNUCKLHEAD graphic (We'd probably have to pay extra) -

The important thing that this thread generates a spec that 50 or more of you would put money down to buy throught he dealer network - once your in, your in - no backing out -there's a serious financial burden should this go the distance, if you're not 100% then don't commit.

Some of you will need to be flexible, and we need to observe house rules in talking about subjects that would offend our host, if this thread gets lost a lot of begging will have been for nothing and I'll not be hapy

  • the first rule of Smelly's crazy thread on getting a rare ball made is there is no fight club etc.
  • The second rule of Smelly's crazy thread on getting a rare ball made is be nice to our host and don't post stupid.

Now just think 2010 is the year of things picking up - wouldn't it be great to be one of 50 lucky knuckleheads who'd have a unique ball - maybe a gold roller all in silver - the silver surfer?? - or a BP albert lee in a unique finish....Yummy! - maybe even a sub is a solid colour with a birdseye neck??

This is a rare oppertunity, I beg you from the bottom of my heart, please please please, get a buzz going with this, and get to something that 50 or more of you would like, please please please.

This is a forum, some of you come here to show of your amazing collecitons, others for vibes, others to listen to some amazing stories, what if we could take this further and have the ultimate decoder ring guitar!!!

Discuss..... Time starts.....NOW!
Smelly.

I know this doesn't apply to me because a)I'm not in Europe, and b)I'm left handed, but can I still make a suggestion?

Dual humbucker AL in that Black Magic Sparkle (I think that's what it was called) color, with a roasted maple neck, and rosewood fretboard.

Guys, I would say UK/Euro - but if there's over 50 - assuming BP is cool with it -perhaps we could open it up to all forum members??

If we can get 50 people for a sparkle finish Glen then it's a sparkle!

what if we did something simple like a maple top on a 2HB AL? They really would not need to re-tool much since the BFR AL already is in production. We can still have an all Rosewood neck and trem/hardtail. Then something like a simple honeyburst finish like the EVH/Axis... or even the return of the Venitian Redburst like the 25th.

I will play, no matter if its UK only or all of us, mine is rather simple, tooling is already there, and bits and pieces have been sen before, so here its is.

Pinkburst Quilt Axis Hardtail
Roasted maple Neck and Fretboard
Chrome PUP Covers with existing Axis PUPS
Chrome Locking Tuners
With a trans pink back,

there easy enough:)

I'd buy that. Maybe Pete Dubaldo can handle the US side, making this Pete & Pete's Special, Hahahahahaha.

well smelly. like i said in the previous forum. if its something that floats my boat than im in . ill put a deposit down on the order. if it aint then it aint and i wish u best of luck. dont know ur feelings on how it should be set out but. maybe....
1. pick model by vote (with enough votes of people seriously wanting the guitar.
2. pick options (but i would say fully loaded would be the easiest spec to have and work from there for special things i.e a special inlay on one of the frets.)+ the pickup layout hss, hh etc.
3.pick colour.
4.final agreement and numbers of people who will definatley place orders. baring in mind people will drop as certain options from 1-3 get picked. this is the only way i can see it sensibly decided. otherwise it will just be people giving random model and colour opinions.

any thoughts ????

LOL, this already looks like a duanting task Smelly, and I think we have discussed this before in threads like "whats your dream EBMM", quite difficult to get peole to agree on the exact same thing.

Rob, I doubt there would be enough people to get an AL done especially with the cool new Al's just released at NAMM.

I know I would be out as I already have a Mint Green HH RW AL on the way:)

Maybe Smelly start a poll and just decide on a model then go from there with colors and such, process of elimination.

I think the AL has all the buzz right now, but I see your point.

Maybe the way to go about this is set a timeline where we first narrow down the model by vote. Set a date for everyone to chime in, Model with most votes wins (1 vote per forum member)

Once model is selected we can vote on body wood, neck and pickups

last we decide on color.

spred the process over 3 months to let everyone have input. But just leave it at a majority rules thing. I say let Smelly run the choices so that he is happy with the final product (it was his idea) and we can go from there.

Im in as long as it isn't a sparkle color.

If you want 50+ members to agree, I think an AL would not be an option. Instead something that floats everyones boat. The most "generic" Musicman guitar would be the Silo Special. It could be an "extra special!" :p

we also know the Reflex is most likely coming at Summer NAMM... what if we just pick a limited color for a Reflex? then model and options are not a big deal and BP and Co can just worry about shooting a single color on a guitar they are already going to produce.

Emerald Green Reflex anyone?
