My dad (Bobby Bowen) was in a group called "Midsouth Boys" or later "Midsouth" in the 80's and 90's. I'll link some videos below. Anyway my dad had a bass he got from another group they were singing with in the mid 90's by trading a Peavey he had just bought. He loved that bass for as long as he had it, playing many concerts for the next few years until the group was disbanded in '97. It was stolen however in the early 2000's and he's been wanting it or one like it back since. I've been wanting to buy one for him for a while now but haven't really had the funds to do so.

The bass is a Music Man Stingray 5 H Blue Pearl
Even if no one has the color does anyone have the old style Stingray 5 H that they are willing to sell for a reasonable price?

Thanks.

Landis Bowen

Looks like your father has a great taste, I spot numerous early Ernie Ball Basses.
Your pictures looks like an late 80s/early 90s Blueburst with a poplar body with a rosewood fingerboard. Blueburst was available until 1994. Blue pearl wasn't available back then.

That bass would also have had the ceramic magnet pickups, which music man used in the SR5 until 2007 or so. Then they changed to Alnico pickups.

I also agree that is not a pearl blue bass. I have a Pearl blue SR5H from 2012, and that is definitely not pearl blue.

Pearl blue came around 1994 but only guitars and the Sterling bass.
The StingRay 5 (MM-50 R 8P) (8P=pearl blue) was first available in 2002.
The early blueburst of the 80ties apear less burst, more evenly opaque blue.
But they were always translucent.
