One pic...

It looks fantastic! Best shot so far capturing the colour IMO.

Agreed - that pic captures the color perfectly. Unfortunately, it's really hard to get the color AND the sparkles to come through. Brad, care to share your camera settings? I struggled horribly trying to get decent pics. My natural light ones were done with 5-10 sec exposures - and I'm not really happy with any of the shots I got.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks! Yeah. My camera battery died just as I was getting ready to line up some different angles. Now that the battery is recharged it's not bright enough to get good shots...

I'll try to get some more next sunny day we've got...as long as I'm home to catch the sunlight in my dining room.

Thats a great pic, Brad. Definitely seems like it actually captures the true color of the JPX. I do love the ones with flash where all the sparkle comes out though, too. How does she sound through the V?

-Phil

It's a really close representation of what the color looks like in person. I really want to get a pic where the sparkle comes through. I'll probably have to do that outside, though. The sunlight really brings out the flake in the finish.

Absolutely monstrous through the V. It sounds a little "bigger" than the other JP guitars. I'm thinking this is due to the chambering. I bet it would sound just as killer through your IIC+

I had a chance to plug it into my AC-90 as well and really give it a go with the piezo. It's *louder* than my other JP guitars when using the same piezo settings. I imagine this may be due to some extra resonance in the body. Honestly I didn't expect it to sound that much different, but it really does.

LOL BP was talking to Derek and Glen about Petes vid and the comment yesterday at the show. Pete your just not metal enough LOL, and a JPX works well for slide, sounded great.

Brad great pic shows off the depth of the color.

LOL. Yeah, YouTube is ripe with keyboard commandos just waiting to jump on anything they can. I bet the guy doesn't even play guitar and if he does, he's probably some 15 year old wanker with a Squier who's jealous.

As far as the JPX goes, It's *MORE* versatile than the JP already was. The 5 way switch adds so much to the tonal possibilities. At the end of the day, it totally shreds, though.

I did get the color to come through nicely...really just trial and error on my part.

I used my Canon SD900 (10MP Digital Elph). No special settings, just the "Foliage" setting since that gave me the best color match. No flash. I opened all the blinds in the room to let as much sunlight in as possible, but no direct lighting. I set the camera on my tripod to keep it as steady as possible. That's pretty much it.

Thanks again, guys. Here's a pretty good pic in natural light.

That's a great photo, Brad. I really like the EBMM finishes and how they change in different lighting situations. In this photo it looks like a glossy solid color then get it into some light and BAM, you get sparkles. You can tell down at the bottom of the body where it has a bit of light on it.

^ Yep. great shot! Actually it's the first pic of the color that actually explains to me why it's called Barolo...always looked like a dark blueish purple to me.

Congrats Brad, it's a beauty!

Yep EBMM are so hard to catch with a camera, they always look fabulous in flesh

I remember my Burnt apple Silo Spec was a PITA to photograph a such a wonderful color in real from sparkle red in the center to very drak purple on the edge while on all the photos is was looking black

That Barolo color is stunning!

In that pic, it looks like the mystic dream without the green in the flip-flop. Is that how it looks in person for the most part?

For the most part, yes. The purple is a bit darker than the Mystic purple.

In sunlight, the metal flake comes alive. I'm gonna try to get some good pics of that...but can't make any promises.

Now what'd you go and do that for?

You're just gonna feel bad later when you realize you can't really have one.
