Let me know if you ever want to sell one of the 15's...
Cash waiting bro...
Steve

Thanks, but it took me a while to find two of them . . . E-bay seems to be the best bet. Great amps.

I've already detailed my bizarre and stupidly complex pedalboard(s)/rack setup. but I play my MM's through a SWR Redhead with a Bag End 2x10 bass cab.

(and yes, I play guitar not bass).

Does anyone here use a bass amp+pedal to get more crunch out of their distorted guitar?

I've been considering trying this because I like a really crunchy thick tone and well I play bass so I can kill 2 birds with one stone. But I play on a practice amp so I dont really know :)

I have a Line6 Flextone II XL.

I hate it

Has nyone here tried the Randall RG50 combo? I'd like to hear your opinions.

Really?

Have you tweeked/customized and saved any settings?
I'm in love with the blackface cleanish sound on mine, after a couple hours twisting knobs.

KEY: keep the drive around 4 and use some delay.

I've tweaked it loads but I just keep finding it sounds a bit flat. I'd be more than happy to try any patches you suggest.......PM them over dude!

I had a very similar setup.
3+SE- 2/50/2- into a pair of 1960B's and a G Force.
You should try to get your hands on a MB cabinet with the Mesa MC90 speakers in it. The Custom Audio stuff loves the Mesa MC90's. It will sound like a whole new rig.
I'm going to get my hands on another 3+SE and have John mod the hell out of it like he did my OD 100SE...
Great rig....
Steve

Thanks for you reply, Steve. The MESA stuff is quite unreasonably priced here in Finland so I'm not so interested in them.. My CAE is from the 2004 batch, so I have replaced the ill resistance value, and replaced the the tranny to an original CAE after the the one I had died on me.. I've no experience on the Suhr mods, so I'd like to hear your opinion on those!

I think the 2502 sounds a bit thin (=not so much balls/natural feeling) compared the use of either the Marshall or ENGL heads as a power amp though. But I've heard the Mesa 2:90 is often noisy in a 1 rack setup, so I haven't found a perfect/compact PA solution for the CAE yet..

Later!

I use a Carvin Bel Air with serious mods. I changed the spakers to a 12" Eminence Tonker and governor.

Hey -

What color is that Luke? Is it white or Buttercream?

Sup Zinky buddy!

I play my Albert Lee (3 singles) and Morse through a Zinky Blue Velvet (in black tolex) 25 watt 1-12 combo. I've got a couple cheapy effects (Danelectro echo and trem) that I crack out about twice a year, but usually it's just guitar-cord-amp.

Hey man how do you like that Zinky Blue Velvet?? I wish I had the $ for one of those, I hear that they are sweet.

Ok, I've just got a Spider II 1x12 with the FVB shortboard. I have a Flextone 3 1x12, but sold it to get the Spider, which for a hack like me works much better.

Love it. I was used to Fender clean for about the last 5 years, so sonically it was a switch for me (even the Zinky's clean channel, which is significantly warmer and tighter sounding). With either guitar, I use both channels equally, the clean for jazzier stuff and the overdrive for everything from slightly broken up clean to full-bore gain with just the volume knob on the guitars. I've never been happier with an amp, ever.

If you want a great deal, give Brian Meader at Chuck Levin's Washington Music. The price I bought mine was about $200 less than what my local dealer in town was offering. Great communication too.
