I don't mean to raise a red flag, but ask around about the build quality and reliability of the Ashdown amps. I was at my amp tech's shop a month ago, and he had a LOT of Ashdown bass amps in for repair. I must have seen 8 or 10 of them stacked up on his shelves. He said the build quality was suspect and he's been working on quite a few of them.
Ashdown makes a great sounding bass amp, and the guitar combos look interesting. Still, I'm warry of them, due to seeing so many in for repair.

blues junior....waiting for delivery of an ashdown peacemaker 40
i'm gonna be adding a new head to my gear arsenal. Randall Cyclone 300 watt solid state-head. anyone ever tried one? i bet *solid-state* is like a sin around here but its a great high gain head. check one out if you can. but remember its not tube, and it doesn't sound like a tube amp either.
At the moment I play a Rivera Jake, although I'm angling for a Knucklehead reverb...also have a Mesa V-twin pedal preamp
Oh yeah...EB, thanks for putting up a forum for the guitars we love!
Right now I practice through a tech 21 10 W. It has a direct output that I use for smaller shows. For bigger shows, I use a Roland Jazz Chorus. I don't use a lot of effects, but I am in the process of getting a pod. I guess the modern age is creeping up on me...
Rivera's are great amps. i too am seeking a knucklehead reverb. htat head would crush a few of the mainstream head these days...........not naming any brands. ;-) anyways, i'd like to get their los lobottom 3-12 cabinet. seen it? 2- vintage 30's on top and a 12" sub on bottom with built in 300 watt amp! damn that would hit low and hard.
Hey folks...sorry I've been away and not reading for a a few. The army doesn't know when to give me personal time
Jaw: The Jake's clean is amazing, I have nothing but words of praise for it. Wraps up the feel of a great blackface and a super tweed into one, courtesy of a push/pull that shifts the EQ range. The motherf**ker is loud too...just 55 watts and one celestion speaker but good lord it can crank. The British channel is pretty awesome too...I am having trouble locking in the plexi feel, but I attribute that to user error Slap the Mesa V-twin in front of the clean channel, or in the effects loop, and its got that modern-esque sort of voicing. You won't ever go wrong with a Rivera, and if you like vintage tones, or hotrodded vintage, go for the Jake. A Fandango or a Knucklehead would do you better if you like more gain-y tones (if thats a word).
Estin: Yeah, a KHR would be fantastic! I really dig the Bonehead, but I think those went out of production...some kind of spat between Steve Lukather and Paul Rivera. Both have gain for days...mmm, tasty Can you tell I dig Rivera's? And they sound great with EB's too!
had second thoughts about the ashdown.......have played many in the meantime, and settled in with a rivera chubster 55......fantastic amp.......extremely versatile.....great clean.....great crunch.....
