So I took the backplate of my Petrucci today to change the strings. This is the first time I have taken it off since I got the guitar and I noticed this.....

Any idea what could have happened? I am the only owner of this guitar as it was finished 12/26/06.

Thanks,
Jim

It has to be from the factory like that because I got it brand new as it was custom ordered to my specs. This is just the first time I have taken the backplate off.

Who knows, maybe John Petrucci has his guitar like that, because the guitars are made to the artist's specs. ( Strings,-String Height, etc...

That's funny!

How is that funny? No one had a white JP6 with inlays, piezo, and matching headstock in stock anywhere, therefore I had to custom order it. Maybe I should have said I had to custom order it with options that I wanted. Its my understanding that there are only a couple white ones like this anyhow.

Of course its not a problem and it doesn't effect anything, but I was just wondering what it could be from and if anyone else had the same thing, which someone else does.

It's a serious question. There's a small hole in the trem cavity. I don't know why it's there, and I also wonder why.

It's not a "problem" to me at least, I don't care at all, and I know it's supposed to be there. I just wonder why. I'm sure its the same with him.

OK after 28,000 instruments buffed on ursula nobody has mentioned the holes where the radio button goes during manufacturing until this week. This was the major flaw that little man complained abou t with his bfr.
It is in either a control cavity or trem cavity on every guitar we make. It tells Ursula what model she is going to buff. THis is how we can make over 100,000 combinations. If we didnt have some way to telling the machine all the way through production we would be forced to make batches.

It is not a problem and your car has many things under the hood also that help get it on four wheels.

Maybe someone from CS might chime in and give you a serious answer, hopefully. I wonder if when my JP6 comes in Nov. if it will have that hole. I'm sure its prob. nothing to worry about. Good luck.
