Yesterday at the gym the shuffle was

Someone at the Mike Portnoy forums turned me onto a band called Dead Air Radio. I've been listening them more than anyone else lately. Signal To Noise Ratio (their newest effort) is just a magnificent album. Anyone wanna tab some of it out for me? :p

Seriously, all you DT, PoS, Porcupine Tree, Neal Morse type fans should check this band out. They have the heaviness of DT, but a little more melodic at the same time. The songs are extremely well written. I urge you to check them out.

P.S. No, I am in no way affiliated with this band. I swear. They are just really good.

Crowded House -- one of my favorites. They're not in my current rotation, but they will be tomorrow :)

I haven't heard of the other two, but I'll check them out!

if you end up liking Andy Mckee check out Antoine Dufour both very good players

I've been listening back to alot of older stuff lately...Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top, CCR, Albert Collins, Muddy Waters w/ Johnny Winter etc...

As far as recommendations...Steve Winwood's latest is really cool...kinda has that Traffic vibe to it...

I generally listen to an album and then put it back only to grab something else. So, I'll just list the last few CDs I remember listening to:

Spock's Beard - Snow
Deep Purple - In Concert with the London Philharmonic (from 2000)
Jethro Tull - The "best of" remix CD from their 1993 Box Set
Black Sabbath - Heaven & Hell
Rush - Rush In Rio
Redemption - I forget the title
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Inner Mounting Flame

Grateful Dead - Europe '72 is next ;)

1.Jeff Beck - Live Bootleg (why bother playing guitar after hearing this stuff)
2. Chick Corea - Priceless jazz (greatest hit compilation of his electrik band material)
3. T. Lavitz - School Of The Arts (this is the new one from the keyboard player for the dixie dregs and probably my favorite cd of the last 5-10 years along with the JB live one)

Morse plays on 2 tracks. And the drummer (weckl) bass (patittucci) and other guitar player (Gambale) made names for themselves in chick coreas band.

4. Pete Huttlinger - Naked Pop (he does a killer fingerstyle version of Eleanor Rigby that I lifted last weekend. One of my fave beatles tunes!...though I listened to it so much and then played it so much I'm kinda sick of it now.
