Off Topic What is the best gig you've been to?

wow, i couldn't choose one even if i wanted to. I even started a few weeks ago to keep a list of all the concerts i attended.

top of my list:

UZEB, MOntreal Jazz Fest main outdoor
James Brown, Montreal Jazz fest outdoor
Nine Inch Nails, last year. what a visual treat that was!
Neil Young
Medeski, Martin & Wood
Opeth
Fantomas/The Locust....WOW

and on the bottom unfortunatly (which should have been one of the
best)

the Faith No More/Metallica/Guns N Roses Olympic stadium fiasco. I was really impatient to see that one only to witness the pyrotecnics exploding in James Hetfield's face followed by Axel Rose telling us to go f**k ourselves. This triggered 55 000 angry fans that tore the place down. We got out quick.

This week has been amazing for me, tuesday Peter Gabriel, Wednesday Mike Patton with Zu (barely out of the top 5) and Chris Cornell who played a 2:50 show, yesterday Radiohead, today Radiohead, and sunday Sonic Youth... next week we got Kiss and Opeth, but i don't have tickets for those... yet hehehe

wow what a week, you are very lucky.

I've also seen Patton with Zu and it was amazing. I've seen Patton improvise with Rahzel too. Oh and i'm forgetting John Zorn's Moonchild with PAtton, Baron and Dunn....incredible.

Porcupine Tree at House of Blues-Dallas for the "Fear of a Blank Planet" tour. I still can't believe a band can play that well together. They are amazing.

Rush keep getting better with every concert. The Dallas show of the "Snakes and Arrows" tour was their best since I started going to their shows on the "Roll the Bones" tour.

I also saw Yes at the now-closed Bronco Bowl in Fort Worth in 1997. Those guys keep me wanting to play bass even when it seems the world would rather I didn't.

And a host of others but these really stand out.

One man that I was desperate to see...and still am, but obviously can't. Another band I WANT to see is jamirquai, but that is very possible. Michael jackson later this year as well...that COULD be good.

-Yes, 2002 or 2003, original line-up. I was blown away by how huge they still sounded.
-Tower of Power, 2005 ... again, blown away ... absolutely huge sound. Rocco and Dave Garabaldi (drummer) went absolutely primal on our buttocks.
-Bela Fleck & the Flecktones
-The Victor Wooten Band
-311 back in the mid nineties
-AC/DC
-never caught a Springsteen show .. hope to next month

Wow... these two make me jelous, we're praying here for the coming of Rush, they said maybe by the end of this year so we're keeping our fingers crossed... and Porcupine Tree, one of my personal favorites but i'm hopeless about them...

Hey Oldtoe!! Yes a patobrujo it's a Duckwizard

Here in Chile we got many fans of progressive rock, in fact when Dream Thater came the first time for the Octavarium tour they played for 25,000 fans... at that time they said it was the biggest audience for a Dream Theater concert (not including festivals)

So, the answer will be yes, we really enjoy progressive rock down here and we want all the bands to come... we promess to get really "locos" at the show

Saw Pink Floyd at Yankee Stadium on this (Division Bell) tour. Definitely #1 for me. I still to this day cannot believe how much emotion Pink Floyd can pack into a single note.

yeah definitely an unbelievable show. I saw them at the Metrodome and after hearing so many people say how bad the sound was for concerts at the dome, I was blown away at how great it sounded for Floyd.

A little sidetrack here, but this is quite an interesting read and gives great insight to how absolutely HUGE of a production the Pink Floyd 1994 tour was:

mind-boggling, really....

Back on topic, I can't believe I forgot to add the Zappa Plays Zappa show at the Orpheum in Oct. 2006 (!) One of the greatest shows ever!
