Here is the Pre EB stingray that is my daily driver

I can't believe the condition that is in. It looks brand new. Please tell us how or where you got it, and if you can post more pics or give us a link, please do. Thanks.

Here is my main bass, but it also shares time with the 55-02.

I paid WAY too much for it, but I knew it would probably be the last time I see such a clean 'ray in a sunburst finish. This bass is a 78(very late), but it still has the epoxy preamp. It sounds killer, and is in MUCH better condition than my radio knob 'ray.

I have to sell a bass or two here soon, and I will be selling my radio knob 76 'ray first because this bass is so much cleaner, and it just feels like home. The other bass will be my black Cutlass I. That is the best slap 'ray I have ever had.

Here is the auction I bought it at

>>>whats does the switch on the SR5's do? and can you get SR5's without one?

There's 2 PUPs (coils) in the one cover. The slider switch allows both to be either connect in series or parallel or just one alone. All SR5 have this feature.

I use a Carbon blue pearl / Moonstone PG 4 HH Bongo. It's also the only good bass i have (I still have a vantage 725 i was using before, but the sound is a pity compared to the bongo ; the vant' will be the back up). I'm not going to buy another bass for the moment. I'd like to have a Dan Electro (it's semi hollow, low priced and lightweight ; it sounds really great).

I don't have any photos of the bongo or possibility to have some in a short time. I'll try to do some, to show that particular color. You can see some on Bovines pages, but the blue is not that dark ; must be hard to show the real color.

Well the real SR5 has the body of a Silhouette, pickguard and all... and the pickup switching of a Sterling.....

The Sub 5 has the body shape, pickguard, and electronics of a regular Stingray right?

Well...uh...I do most of my gigs with a Fender 51 re-issue strung with TI flats or an upright but I do almost all my playing at home with a Stingray ( or the upright). The Stingray has a place beside the couch so it is always handy.I put in more playing time on the Stingray than any other bass.
