I recently purchased a Sub 1 guitar and I love it. I have 3 amp setups that i go through. Mesa Boogie w/ a 2 x 12. Tubeworks w/ a 1 x 12. finally and Ampeg Super Jet. I just am not getting moved by the Ampeg. Everything else sounds great. Anyone use an Ampeg in their arsenal? Any tips that I can try to get better sound? Thanks Frank

Welcome Frank!
I use an Ampeg VH140C with my JP6, but it's solid state. I can get quite a few different sounds from it. It has great versatility IMO...

I would say that your SuperJet is great for that vintage vibe type of sound that would work great for jazz & blues. Maybe try a few different distortion pedals (Boss DS-1 for example). Experiment a little and hopefully you find that tone that you're looking for.

New camera, too. So nice. I've taken some amazing shots of my DGJP6, too. I'll probably load those up to a thread at some point.

I mainly use my caa preamp and vht PA, but l just purchased a Rivera Knucklehead (one of the old one's), and it sounds awesome, l just need to get an overdrive pedal or some kind of boost for solos, but the gain channel is awesome, like a hotrodded marshall, and the clean is sparkling.

I use mainly Fender amps...Supersonic combo, Blues Jr Tweed & Super Champ XD. And for practicing, either the Fender G-Dec or the MTN amp.

Got me a killer rig now. Marshall vintage modern head 50w and a boogie roadser 2x12. I dont think the marshall/boogie combination has beeb explored enough.

I've fallen for the Swart Space Tone. Here's a Youtube video I put up last week with my EBMM AL. The two make a fine couple. ;)

What kind of amp for my MM?

Still a huge fan of Dr Z amps. And, dig playin' thru my Galaxie and Z-28. Would love to get both a SRZ-65 and Stang Ray to round out the collection :D:cool:

cheers always, eh

Egnater Mod 50 thru an Egnater 4x12 with Vintage 30's. Choice of EG5, VX, and MHG modules. I usually have the EG5 and the VX loaded. The MHG goes in when I'm playing the 7 string.
