Re: Real bass players..don't use picks!

Dunlop Jazz III black picks, same I use for acoustic and electric guitar. Used a great variety of picks before I ran across these 6 years ago, I'll never switch.

I used to always say "real bass players don't use picks!!!" but over the years I realized the advantages of them and use them about 1/3 of my playing time. Besides, real bassists SLAP anyhow. ;)

As far as faster playing, I could never pick a bass as fast as my fingers could, those strings are too thick to do any shredder techniques. :D

ONe pet pieve i have, is bassists who slap everything, I personally believe that a bassist should use fingers the most, but not limit to only that. Slap has the sickest sound, but unfortuantly, if you playing Rock 90 percent of the time, i find slap to sound out of place. Picking can give a great sound, especially thought an EB.

Of course this isn't to say that my beliefs are incorrect..but it's the way i feel.
