I was just looking at the sunburst Bongo that Derek posted and got to thinking about my upcoming DD SR5.

The color green isn't at all what caused me to consider a DD model bass. I'm not a huge fan of green but I don't dislike green either.

What really piqued my interest in the DD was the announcement of the martini glass inlays. That really yanked my chain. Up until that point, I hadn't intended to buy one at all.

It is the Jack Williams martini influence, Larry. Strong mojo. Strong.

You may be right Jon.

Don't get me wrong. I appreciated what was being done for us by all of you there at SLO, but I just wasn't excited about the bass when I first heard it was going to be green. After seing what all was being done though and considering how unique these basses would be, I just couldn't see not having one in my posession.

The crazy thing is that my wife even put her stamp of approval on the purchase without even a raised eyebrow!

Hello, my first post here.

I currently own 8 Ernie ball basses. I have a Sterling single H w/ matching headstock DD on order from Bass Central.

I ordered it because of the cool inlays and I love the fast neck of the Sterlings. Now if I can only convince Levy's leathers to make me a strap for it! Not doing too well on that front so far, but I still have hope.

Great to be here, my basses get weekly workouts live and I would not trade any of them. :D

I think the martini glass inlays were the most compelling thing about the package.
I'm a sucker for off-the-beaten-path inlays.

It should arrive on UK shores around the time we intend to have our first (and still as yet unborn) child christened. So I was looking for a sweet bass to mark the occasion - the DD fitted the bill.
