What strings do you use?

I think it would be far less work for me if the question would be:

"Which EB strings don't you use?"

no, i'm just kidding, but i think that i do use quite a lot of EB strings

i also use some other brands for now, but when i have ran out of those last sets i will replace them with EB's as well

this is my current string usage:

*Extra Slinky's .040 - .095
*Super Slinky's .045 - .100
*Hybrid Slinky's .045 - .105
*Regular Slinky's .050 - .105

*Rotosound Swingbass .040 - .095, i'll replace these with Extra Stainless Slinky's
*Rotosound Swingbass .045 - .105, i'll replace these with Hybrid Stainless Slinky's
*Rotosound Jazz flat's .040 - .100, i'll replace these with Group IV or singles
*Rotosound Jazz flat's .045 - .105, i'll replace these with Group II or singles

sometimes i also use Power Slinky's for a low-D or Eb tuning

perhaps i will go back on playing Stingray-5 and Bongo-6 (next to 4 string) and for those i would be using Regular-5 or Power-5 and 6-string slinky bass

for my electric guitar (which still isn't a MM :() i use different gauges:

super slinky's
hybrid slinky's
regular slinky's

and also most types:

Rock 'n roll classics
RPS slinky's
Standard nickel slinky's

i also have future plans on buying a western (6 & 12 string) and a classical acoustic guitar, which also will be strung with EB:

Coated titanium slinky's (light or extra light)
Slinky acoustic 12-string (2153)
Ernesto nylon clear & silver (2403)

Funny you should say that. One of the reasons I quit using D'Addarios years ago, much to the regret of my friends who loved them, was they always sounded dead to me straight out of the package. Just lifeless. Admittedly, I haven't tried any in 20 years or so, but I don't have any need to, either. My Slinkys do me just fine. :p
 
What kind of strings do i use? There's a red milkcrate/bargain bin at the end of our guitar center counter...whatever strings are in there are the ones i buy!
 
I have been using EB "Regular Slinky" (10's) on all my guitars except for using "Super Bullets" 10's on my Strats. After playing and liking the EB "RPS" 9's that are on my EBMM SS from the factory I'm going to use RPS strings on all my guitars. 9's on my SS and my Strats, and 10's on all my other electric guitars........none of which I play much anymore since getting the Silhouette.
 
EB Hybrid RPS 46-9's for electric. I occasionally jump to the "Pink" packed Slinkys (42-9's).

EB Super Slinky Acoustic strings (52-11's), as light as I could find them. I'm using these up so I can get the new coated acoustic strings that were just released. I was using D'Addario previously for acoustics, but tried a set of EB acoustic strings. Really good strings. My Breedlove sounded pretty good with the D'Addario EXP acoustic strings, but the Slinkys just made everything sound SOOOOOOO much better. More projection, even tone.

I'm thinking to try the RPS-9 Slinky Nickel Wound .009 - .042. Is there any difference in the sound, cos i really like the super slinky sound

No difference in the sound! Same Super Slinky Tone!

The RPS strings are great!

Just wait until the new Coated Electric RPS Slinkys make their way into stores, this summer.... They'll win you over. Of that I'm sure.

the singles you're using come quiete close towards a Skinny top heavy bottom set from EB, product code 2215

those gauges are 10-13-17-30-42-52

worth a try?
 
I just put a set of regular slinkies on my Squier P-Bass special and they gave it life I didn't know it was capable of having.

Still probly won't touch it for years after the SUB gets here though. :-P
 
I use EB RPS 11s on my electrics (Gibsons) and Martin 13s on my acoustics 6 and Martin Light on my acoustic 12.
The RPS, although do not last as long as I like, resist pretty well the string breakage (sp?). I'm a heavy bender. :)

Standard 10-46s...
Can't get enough of that wonderfull stuff.
Always just seem to have more 'omfph' then 9-42s... Always just seemed to resonate more with me...Can't explain it, they just seem right.
 
I've been using Dean Markley NickelSteel 009-046 ("Custom Lite") for almost all my electric guitar life.

That's the plain strings from a 009 set and the wound strings from a 010 set. Best of both world in my opinion, you get a real bass, but the high strings are easy to manipulate and they are low on "off" overtones.

Sometimes I try both sides one notch up to 010-052 but I usually figure it's not worth it.

The wound DM NickelSteel have very shiny spakly overtones that I like. I once put a whole bunch of "A" strings on my guitar and compared and they won for my taste.
