Hey, u talkin to me? NY
I always think about past events during my one hour train ride to work (between my work related Blackberry e-mails) and I thought about my 1997 Trans-Red Quilt Top Axis. I bought her new from GC and she was the most amazing looking and playing guitar that I had ever owned! About two years later a bandmate of mind convinced me to trade her in for a used Les Paul at a local used guitar shop and so I traded her for a Les Paul. After playing the Les Paul through my amp for a day and truly missing that amazing Axis neck, I went back to the store to see if I could get my Axis back and she was already gone! I still kick my self to this day about that trade. You live and you learn…

So, what’s your story? You never know, the person that now owns that guitar might be a member here…;)

Pics are always welcomed too (unfortunately, I didn't take any pics of my red beauty).

None. All my prior EB purchases have led me to the hardtail Axis. Sounds better than all the previous EB guitars I had.

Well I've had quite a few over the years! The one that I miss the most would have to be my EBMM EVH. I remember pre-ordering it when they were first announced and it arrived 3 months later. I Played that guitar until the frets wore out! For some reason in that time period I was getting tired of the Floyd Rose system and sold it! I then went on a long journey trying other guitars but I just recently picked up a new Axis and I'm back to loving this guitar again.....

This is the guitar I regret getting rid of the most. It was truly beautiful. The quilt was one of the best I've seen on a non-BFR Axis. I do wish I never got rid of that one.

Back in 04 I bought a Honey Burst quilt top Axis SS. It had the best quilted tops that I’d ever seen. Sadly when I was out of work in 05 and part of 06, I had to sell it.

When I got back to working again I bought my trans gold Axis and tried to move on. I’m ok now, I think I’m over it. It almost feels like loosing a girlfriend.

My 2007 LE Silhouette Special - that was a really nice SSS model; there couldn't have been many SSS ones made for that run.

However, like Keith (fingbeagles) I'm having injury issues with my left hand and I'm moving to shorter-scale guitars. While I happily sold off 2 shorter-scale guitars to purchase my current short-scale guitar, the Silo Special was a casualty that I had hoped to avoid; and I wasn't able to buy it back when offered because that happened simultaniously to a deal falling through on one of the two I "happily sold off".

If I can get back to playing the longer scale guitars I'll have another Silo Special (or maybe an SSS AL) some day.

Mine was the coveted JP 6 in Autumn Red Rise.

It had a sealed neck and was just a please to play. But I didn't think and sold it. I had hoped one day to snag it back form Pete who bought way after I sold it, but Pete has parted with it as well. :( Maybe, someday.

Sweet top! The neck looks like it had some insane figuring on it too.

Mine is my BFR RW Neck JP6 i traded for the 25th I have now.

I loved that guitar so much, but as of now, I need a guitar that handles and covers more ground.

Sigh... I hope it goes to a Knucklehead, so I can buy it back one day.

All the EBMM I've sold were great guitars but all were sold to fund even greater guitars so :D

Axis was sold to fund my EVH hardtail
Silo Spec Burnt apple to fund my current giging axe ASS with Piezo
my modded pacific Burst ASS to fund my Stealth bongo current gigging Bass
And my lovely Sandy (Natural ASS MM90 Piezo) to fund another guitar (first non EBMM since 10 years)

I really don't regret my choices so far

I really regret selling my first EBMM. The guitar was perfect for my needs, I just didn't notice (or didn't want to know) that back then. Build to last, good sound, easy to play and the unique "Musicman" on the bridge (what no SUB had). I sold it to buy an Silhouette. Also a great guitar, but that just didn't have the same "vibe" for me. The "new guitar" or "first expensive" guitar vibe. ;)

I've been through quite a few on the search for the perfect EBMM collection (keep coming back to those Axis Super Sports!). I think the ones I may end up regretting letting go are:

Axis Sport MM90 trem in platinum silver (OK I regret this one already)
Axis Super Sport Rosewood MM90's
Dargie Delight Luke - played like butter, looked amazing, but I was ready for a change.
Bahama Blueburst Luke (sold for relative peanuts on ebay!!)

Just one, huh?

Well, not sure. Could it be one of 2 EVHs (Blue and Amber - no pics)?

My Honeyburst Axis (with gorgeous quilt top)?

Honestly, if I could just go back and pick any one of them, it would be the 20th hands down. Man do I miss that guitar. :( I do miss the others as well - but that 20th - it was fantastic - perfect for me too - there's a good reason they call us "knuckleheads"!

The good news is they all went forumites - except the JP.
