Yeah, it was sold to me! Jason traded it in to DMC towards a y2d, and I bought it from the store. I have no plans to sell it, it's currently my #1 gigging guitar.

Well it's good to hear it's gettin the lovin it deserves Pete. :)

When I first got into EBMM I thought I would try and find/buy one of each model and see which fits me. But the problem was there's too many options for each model! ... so I had to find used ones to save money
Amen- that's exactly what I've done over the years. Tried as many as I could by buying them used and selling them if they weren't keepers. The second hand values are stable, you can always flip something for what you paid for it, and get to try things in a band situation, etc.

I regret selling my first axis, vintage sunburst with tight even flame top and famed neck. Ouch. Thanks for reminding me!

Shoot Rob - I remember that AL you got at the second attempt - the one with the fantastic figured neck. That looked an awesome AL.

When I first got into EBMM I thought I would try and find/buy one of each model and see which fits me. But the problem was there's too many options for each model! I got a silo special early on, maple trem HSS, so next I went rosewood HSS trem, then SSS Rosewood hardtail, then maple hardtail SSS etc......so I had to find used ones to save money, same goes for the Axis range and the AL range, no shops here carry the whole lot so buying used is the way to go, and I found my home on the AL's eventually!!!!!! I dont regret selling any of the 30+ balls ive sold because they were all just bought out of curiosity and sold to fund more curiosity.

Tommy,

The first MM EVH I ever saw in person (back in the mid-90's) was green and I remember my jaw dropped. I was simply blown away at how beautiful the guitar was. Your pic just made my jaw drop over a decade later.

Thanks for the compliments. Boy was I dumb!! I sold the Green Axis out of sheer stupidity on eBay several years ago..... I still talk to the guy who bought it (he has also sold it). The new owner put a couple dings on the top and now wants more money than what I sold it for > go figure. Told him would pass on buying it back. Did not think clearcoat dings could be fixed.

My Black EVH Flametop has a clearcoat ding on front (I bought it that way). Can that be fixed ??

yes, but it's gonna cost ya. it involves stripping the clearcoat and reapplying it. ask a Good luthier to give you an estimate of the cost.

Stripping the Clearcoat huh.........man, sounds labor intensive. I have lived with it this long, guess I could use the money I saved from that job to buy ANOTHER Musicman guitar !?! LOL

Hey, u talkin to me? NY
Sorry man, it was just suppose to be a fun reminiscing type of thread with some interesting stories and pics. Plus, a great possibility to re-connect with that sold/traded Ball here. I didn't mean to bum people out...

I'll try to be more upbeat with my next thread (and maybe some more crime solving)...:p
