I'm selling my Gibson SG... or possibly trading it in... whichever one will get me the most money back...

So what do I get... something versatile...

Luke (I like the sound of the EMGs)
or
Silhouette Special (Never played, bit I've held it, and it feels gooood)
or
Axis (I like the neck)
or
Axis Super Sport (I like the neck(
or
AL (never played)

I play mostly rock...

The SS is a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the rest... but I can't decide...

LOL!

How about telling us what you want it for? Also, do you have a JP on order (from your sig)? AND, I noticed your list is conspiculously short of an AL..........

How do you want us to reply

Do you want a versatile Guitar ? Rock Oriented ? Trem ? no trem ?

Humbucker, Single, MM90 ?

What kind of music are you playing ? Do you want to replace the SG with a similar instrument ?

The local guitar shop is willing to give me about $1000 CDN for it...which aint bad.

I've put my guitar on Craigslist and what not, hoping that someone will bite.

I think I want something with a Trem, with singles, something a little bit brighter because I'll have my JP for some of the darker and heavier stuff

I like the neck style of the Silo, Axis/ASS, AL, the 10 radius for my small hands is just perfect. If you like the Axis/ASS neck, the Silo and the AL may get into your short list too.

Maybe to be a little more specific maybe less helpful...

I'm looking for a guitar that will help lead me to my JP when it arrives...

I like the JP's thinner neck, but dislike the Silhouette 20th's neck.

I've got small hands, and the Axis SS feels great, but I want versatility as well as the brighter tones of a single coil.

so the Albert is the ultimate guitar for you :D

Single coils, Neck similar to the Axis (the former name of the AL BTW)

Hey beej, you gonna beat me by 5 seconds on every post today? :D
Haha! Yeah, we're in sync today.

Jagged, if you don't like the Silo's neck I think you're going to find the Silo Spec and AL neck too big as well.

With that in mind, the Luke neck might be for you- it's great for small hands and it's a killer guitar. As Johnny says the Y2D or a newer Morse with the same neck profile might be good too.
