Ok heres the scenario. Jon calls you up and says youve won a contest to custom build the EBMM bass of your choice. What would it be.

I can tell you mine would be a 4 string HHP Blue Dawn Bongo white ice pg. I would also go crazy for a Honeyburst 4 string HHP Bongo with tort pg.

Let me know what you would have built. Be creative, and Bovine, be careful with the photoshop. We can only handle so much.

The blue dawn colour, is it sparkley because ive seen pictures with a blue dawn with sparkles and pictures without the sparkle. Interested in a SR4 blue dawn but the sparkles makes the bass so ugly

Oh the choices!

I'd have to say... Sterling, firstly. The back of the neck and headstock painted jet black like on a SUB. The body, however, would be like a sun burst, only in the middle would be a bright, almost pinkish red(with matching aluminum SUB-like PG) that would burst like a sunburst into a white slowly, so by the egdes the bass was completely white as was the back. Also available in a blue instead of red ;)

That would float my boat...

That is exactly one of my dreams basses. Along side the Bongo 5, Candy Red, Dual Humbucker, 4 band EQ, Rosewood Fingerboard, White Pearloid Pickgaurd

Them 2 would have me set for life

Blue Dawn SR 4, 3 band EQ, with an added single coil in the neck position, string through body, rosewood board, and no pickguard. That would keep me happy for a long while!

Trans. Purple Bongo 5 Single H Fretless with abalone pickguard is the first thought that comes to mind. Oh yeah and there would be THREE silica packs and a molded HSC with LOTS of storage inside. And inset dunlop straploks like on Ken Smith basses.

Ok,
Since all of this was started I will let you all know now.
I will get serious concerning the purchase of a Blue Dawn Sterling, used in great condition. I would consider trading in or selling my Blue SR 4 active SUB which is in above excellent condition.
I need the smaller neck which the Sterling offers.
My e-mail is available.
Blessings

Actually I always liked the way a Stingray looked & sounded but didn't like the neck. So that being said I never knew a Sterling had a Jazz style neck. So for years I thought the Sterling was just a Stingray variant. It was only recently that my neighbor let me try her Sterling & that was it---I bought one 2 days later--and another off the bay a week or so after that. They are my dream basses.
BUT for something really unique---how about a Stingray body with a Sterling neck & electronics painted chrome like the Ibanez Joe Satriani guitar(obviously with a chrome p/g) & matching headstock.

My EBMM of my dreams would be:

A StingRay in Dark Teal (exactly like the Pedulla 'Arctic Night' colour)
Black pickguard
2eq
Maple neck/board(But I'd love some custom work so that it looks very old, very yellowish in order to do great contrast with the teal)
Heavier Bridge(Not muted)
White Pickup(like the early years!)

Top Bottom
