Why Cant I have a Peizo???

Curious idea, BP.

I took out a JP6 righty for a few days, and certainly didn't mind playing it upside down. I actually prefer the right handed trem, because the bar is in the PERFECT place (a la Jimi and SRV). The only downside I've found is the access to the upper frets. I can't comfortably get past 17th fret or so. My question is just for those of us lefties that are crying without a JP6, and potential to rectify this.

What are the chances of a lefty JP6 BODY AND NECK, and then a righty trem? That could be a simple solution for us stupid forumites that crave a JP6, because I don't see that being a HUGE cost issue. The pickups and tuning pegs are easy to get hands on, but the trem is the money-grubber. After my experience with the upside down trem, I would purchase one in that configuration in a second. If that is a stupid idea, how impossible is it to get a left handed NUT for a right handed JP6? I've been thinking of as many options as possible and those are the two I've come up with that are the least ridiculous.

There's a nice JP6 at the local guitar store I've played a few times, and I have a great paying job that might allow early X-Mas for me!

BP, any thoughts; if only for a special upcharged limited run for us four or five forumites?

One thing I totally forgot to mention.

I realized just shortly after what I posted that I forgot to mention something integral...

I am not trying to push buttons in checking into options for the lefty JP6. I could not be happier with my SS, and am on edge waiting for the LUKE to come in. I have all ready imagined playing the LUKE at the store for three minutes, then ordering another one. Things are always better in pairs, right? :D

I can't compliment EBMM enough. I'm in the process of borrowing my friend's SMY2D so I can lend it to a blues guy who's playing in town next month. He plays some custom shop F****r that he paid far too much for. I want him to play the SMY2D so that he'll a) kick his own ass for spending so much on a F****r and b) he'll never play anything but EBMM after.

I just speak for myself in saying that everything EBMM offers is amazing. My next acquisition is a lefty BONGO! So, let's all keep in mind that I'm just testing out the waters with my JP questions. That's it, nothing more. I figured I'd clarify before anything got out of hand. :D
 
I have to say, my brother is LH and he's been playing righty since he picked up the guitar... And now he's pretty damn quick.

Moral of the story: Start playing RH and it'll never feel odd (:eek: amazing no?)
 
well at the end of the day i have my ball. its mine and none of my friends can play it. so in a way its my own signature model. it comes with 2 signature chips also. one in the head stock near the tunning key from a wire clipper. and one near the strap from a screw driver. balls are best.

the preamp circuit board has to be reversed and so does the bridge the tooling alone for these two changes is about 20 grand with a 5 year break even at best. The Lefty LUke came about because o Professional Golfer Scott Mc Carron who did some incredible work for the CLB and hat was the reward.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but if someone put the money up for the R&D for the lefty bridge and electronics, would that make it more feasible for lefty models to be made? Just a hypothetical for future reference.

I persoannly doubt it. What with the BFS's, EBMM manufacturing capacity is at an all time high I would imagine!
 
Unfortunately, the lefty market is a small one. It may be that an aftermarket system might work well for you. I know Fishman and Ghost both make great piezo systems.

Somebody on these very forums did a piezo conversion on a Rosewood ASS. Might be your only option to do something like that.

The guitar was originally Dan Desy's- Mike bought it and removed it.

Btw, the piezo I put in my Morse was the Ghost system. There are one or two little quirky things I had to work around before I was happy, but I love it. If anyone's interested in doing this themselves feel free to PM me for details.
