Two of the same model bass? Equipment backup.

Two of the same model bass, but in different colours? Fashion.

This.

There are no identical basses. Every instrument feels and sounds different.

And that.

Thinking of it... although most of mine look the same (StingRay 3EQ) there are differences in the woods (ash, mahogany, alder) and necks (rosewood, ebony, graphite) which make them really individual instruments.

Now I get it

All different basses?

1. Short attention span

2. Easily bored

3. Always on the look-out for the "latest thing"

4. Likes to keep people guessing

5. Addicted to status symbol approval

6. Craves variety and the attention it brings

7. Has got to be the first to get something that's brand new. Hmmm...

I think I need therapy!

I haven't always been this way.

Wait...yes I have!
:p

I can relate to all of the above.

Addendum to my post

When I started this post I wasn't refering to having the same model in different colors or pickup combinations. I thought I have seen pictures of someone's collection where they might have something like 3 StingRay H with the same fretboard, body color and pickguard color. That is what I am curious about. In that case I suppose they might be tuned differently and have different strings.

I don't think anyone here except Dave J has basses that are identical. He's got so many Sterlings some of them are bound to be the same:)

I have two Bongo 5 HH, but they differ in color and neck wood.

For others to have identical basses, well could it be to be hiding the number of basses owned from someone close to them?
