Bananas is still there, and the staff is pretty cool...just doesn't float my boat.

If anyone goes into Bananas let me know if they have any Music Man there.

I don't remember seeing any of those there...been a couple of years.

Somehow, I just don't see them carrying EBMM axes, lest they want to get rid of their F*nders and G*L's to make room...:D

Hey BP ... is there a redirect on this thread ???

I've done my homework at the GC Investor Relations campsite
my eyes, ears and mindtrapz are open to the

'view from the top' heading into '06 and
how a major corporation designs and executes a business strategy
linking the seemingly opposing and conflicting entities of
'arts' & 'commerce'

I'm particularly interested an an EBMM 'international' customer / musician
who looks toward American business for a more 'globally' applicable model,
and of course I'm both young & old enough to dream about such things as the
enhancement of community and world peace through music

Whew,

Anyone know any good stores in San Rafael? :D

Not really Dargin...Zone Music Cotati is "ok" but not much better than "ok" and forget Stars Music in Petaluma...they suck eggs.

I had heard that Sam Ash was looking into opening a store in Sonoma or Marin Counties but last I knew it wasn't open.

I have heard there is a new store on 4th Street that's more of a museum than actual "store". Appprently the owner bought a large portion of the Chinery Collection.

Marty is the CEO of Guitar Center and has been with them since it was a two store operation He and his team have built it into the largest musical company in the world.

Believe it or not Marty takes the time to check out various threads on our forum. I have asked him if he would give all of us a chunk his time to answer questions on the forum much like the Big Poppa JohnPetrucci thread several months back. He is incredibly busy and was kind enough to agree to answering your questions.

I only ask that even if you don't like GC, that you treat this man with respect and if you have tough questions please ask them in a proper manner. You guys are representing not only yourself but our forum and in the end me. The banned for life button will be on. (JK, but maybe a little serious)

THis is a great opportunity to ask this man about the history of GC. What the core goals are, wht the culture is, their relationship with vendors, customers and their vision for the future.

Sounds good. This opportunity would be great, as I have some serious concerns...

Does Sam Ash have any stores west of Ol' Miss?

If we're still talking Bananas At Large, it's the vintage guitar shop across the street.

It's got an inventory of old acoustics that would blow your mind!

$8-20k guitars just hanging on the wall, with the 'high-end' stuff enclosed!

Thats the place...Bobby Vega told me about it.

Bobby Vega? The Bobby Vega? Same guy that grew up in the Bay Area? Slaps a MEAN bass line? If it's the same guy, I remember playing bass with him one day at Leo's Music. This was 25 years ago. He was great then.

Yup that one...Bobby's a good friend and he doesn't slap much but he's the baddest pick player I know of.
