Stanky, best of luck man, it's tough moving away from family and friends. Being on your own is a great feeling, I was there when I was 18, though I had a full time job and things were cheaper then as well.

Just remember, keep your credit low, it'll help. Pete's got good advise there, take only what you need, otherwise you'll be looking @ junk that you either don't have room for or don't need.

Again best of luck man. Ping me on AIM, it's been a while. Glenn |B)

I also want to add that you should never take yourself too seriously or be too hard on yourself. Remember that there will be times when other people will let you down simply because they see things differently than you do; it's just how life is. It's best to just try to "gel" with everyone as best you can, especially when playing music together. Let others be themselves as well.
Try to avoid people who bring about negative or potentially harmful situations into your life. Stand your ground, you'll gain self-respect and with any luck, you'll gain theirs as well. If someone doesn't agree with you, oh well!

A bit of an update:

To say that this wasn't the best move of my life would be completely absurd. It's had it's downfalls and hardships but the rewards have been much greater. I moved down into a place with two friends of mine (married couple). After a few months after a stupid ordeal they hate me and I felt it was best to get out on my own. I was able to pick up what was supposed to be a part time job at Sherwin Williams Automotive but have shown my ambition to them and am now in transition to becoming an assistant manager and eventually branch manager working full time. More importantly I've found an established band down here that I've been able to work myself into. (Roger That Jax Fl. band - rogerthat Not me on the recordings) Not exactly my style but it's definitely a fun gig and we're booked every Friday & Saturday for the rest of the year. I'm also doing outside free lance work and teaching lessons.

AND hopefully will be adding another EB to the stable here in the next few months. I told myself that I had enough MMs at 3 but who the hell am I trying to kid? Trying to pick something up of the toofless variety. :D

Just wanted to update you cats! I really will try to keep up here more. Over the last few months though life has been crazy and things are now settling into a good groove.

heading out

Hey Andrew,

here's something from an older guy with best wishes to you,:)

as you head out on your adventure, remember to keep in touch with your home and family ... "There's no place like home" I struck out at about your age and I didn't pay proper attention to my family and I live with deep regrets now:eek::(
Good Luck, Andrew

don't leave home without it??

I know I haven't been present here in the last few months but I just wanted to let everyone know what's going on.

I know some of you have heard my intentions of joining the military. Well those plans are being put on hold due to some new opportunities. At almost 22 years old, I'm finally leaving my home. I'm relocating to Jacksonville, Florida on Feb 4th to pursuit any new opportunity that comes my way while I'm there. I'm really nervous about it but also anxious to get down there. So does anyone have any advice on the first move out?

Too say all you guys haven't played a valuable part in where I am today in my life would be a lie. For that, I thank each and every one of you. This is a new time in my life and hopefully I'll be able to share it with you cats!
Hey Andrew, Stanky,
I was about your oldz, youngz, when I loaded up my trusty VW and headed out seeking ???;)to this day, I think that my greatest mistake was not keeping in proper and regular contact with some of my family and I now have major regrets about those separations due to my stubbornness and immaturity, but I think you're probably better grounded within yourself now than I was then and I have confidence in you, but remember, we here are like family so don't become a stranger here , OK? EH?:)
Best of luck and keep the SR5 faith as long as you can:cool:
