Hey everyone, I have been thinking about this for a while, a friend has a Luke 2 that has been gigged a lot, the frets are gone and it has quite a few battle scars, and he wants to sell it to me quite cheap, what I was thinking was to get it and have it refinished, refretted and a Floyd installed.. if I can get some pics posted later I will, all in all I think if I had the right repairer it could be very cool... whatya think...??

If the price is right then buy it have new frets and a finish but NO on a floyd, stick with the orignal trem, as my saying goes the only Floyd I want is Pink:D

Mirroring all above opinions. You don't mod a guitar for a Floyd. You buy a guitar with a Floyd. Get that sucker and have a refret done. Then spit-shine it.

i'm a floyd guy, but i have to admit the MM trems w/ the locking tuners are pretty stable!!

it would be the pot calling the kettle black for me to tell you not to do the floyd, but keeping the guitar factory original as far as the hardware, i think is the way to go.

as far as the color...do it up, go crazy!!!:D but definately have the fret job professionally done!!!

The vintage trem is awesome! Once you buy it..you can do whatever you like with it. If the vintage trem is good enough for Lucious....it's good enough for me!

Do whatever makes you happy - its your guitar!

I'm with Tim 100%! Do whatever makes you happy. I'm a big advocate of making the guitar be what you want it to be - not what others want it to be. I like Floyds. I find them a pain at times - but when set up right - I really really like them. The Axis has one and Satch and Vai use them so they can't be simply junk, right? Do what you want and forget everyone else. :p

Then again, do you really want to take the advice of a guy who did this to a JP?:

Maybe not...........;)
