So I switched the pickups in my morse to the dimarzio 36th and super distortion and at home they weren't bad , but at practise tonight I just did not like the sound I missed the sound of the morse neck pickup. I guess I might just go back to the original pickups with the 500k pot.
 
The originals are great pickups- where I've toyed with them in my Morse, I've ended up putting them back.

If you want to try out the effect of 500k pots, you can always use the stock pots but disconnect the tone control. You'll get the same load. I'd imagine the single would be too bright, though.
 
All my morses I put 500 k pots I'm think I might go back and try one with 250k and mess with my amp settings and see how I like it.
I use the tone control too much to disconnect it .
I'm looking for a warm nice sustain tone that cleans up well that has balls behind it I feel the other pickups I tried are just weak.
Or it's just I learned 36 songs in a week for an audition and I'm just driving myself crazy worrying about tone .

I think, your driving yourself crazy worrying about the tone, which will be sublime no matter what. :)

Good luck for the audition, Gio! When is it? What kind of band?

The audition is Thursday night and the band is a mix of rock songs and poppy dance songs apparently their goal is to become a wedding band . They pay well so even though the dance stuff isn't my thing I have some good rock tunes to equal it out.

I just want to figure out my pickup situation

Well I have to say it was one of the more useless auditions I have ever gone to , I learned 36 or so songs in about a week and when I got there they were also auditioning a female singer. So now they are asking do I know this song and that song and I was like yes I do but they weren't on the list , luckily i just happened to know them.
Out of the 36 I played 3 and a bunch of other songs that I had know idea they were going to be played. At least I am impressed them with the amount of songs I just randomly know.
Everyone over the morse though , I had to play through a fender hot rod it sounded ok , it did it's job.
The clean channel was great the dirty not that bad but nothing great.
I still think I may go back to the original pickups and pots on the the morse.
The morse neck pickups is probably one of the better neck pickups out there I think i just needed to try other ones to get back to the original.

I really love the way the guitar plays overall though it's so comfortable I still am impressed after four years with it how nice of an instrument it really is.

So all in all it was fun I got the job if I want it and I was nervous for nothing.
 
If the PUs and Pots are enough for Mr. Morse, then I can´t think about changing anything on this guitar...

I just love it the way it is...

I love the way the guitar is too but I figured he used different amps effects strings And his pick attack is different it would be good for him but i want what's good for me .I figure I will go through all the options I can to see what I really like and I know now that I'm getting closer to how I want it to sound.
It just has been time consuming taking it apart and redoing it all the time.
I have had it apart at least four times in the past month within new pickups or pots it. Good thing I like doing it.
 
You are totally, right about the amp, strings, effects thing. A perfectly sensible attitude I think. I like the cut of your jib, young fella! :D

And yes, a very good thing you like taking it apart. I'm gonna make a few long-threatened changes to my Silhouette Special this weekend. Nice to break out the soldering iron every so often.

just a Standard Morse player here .... but I think, the Hummers do have enough power to rock nearly everything with 250k pots. Didn´t try 500k but I think they (especially bridge) are rather powerful and the 250k makes sound it warm and round
 
Imo, the stock pickups sound great with 250k pots.

But ... another random option is to wire it up so the HBs see 500k's and the single coil (and single coil & HB) see 250k's. You'd use 500k pots, then wire a 500k resistor in parallel (to ground) to those points on the lever.

Im not sure if I would want to attempt this sounds like a great idea though.
