Aussie Mark said:Rule of thumb for a PA or bass rig is to use a head or power amp that is rated 1.5-2x the RMS rating of the cab it's driving. That way, you have headroom to spare, and should never run the risk of clipping your amp and sending a square signal to the cabinet.

Reallistically speaking, I may go the GK 1001RB-II route; 700w @ 4ohms run through two Ampeg 1x15's should sound pretty sweet!
maddog said:That was a setup btw.You were supposed to say "Dare I?" and I was gonna reply "Dare! Dare!" Shades of Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles. Oh well, the moment came and went. Sometimes you seize the laughs and other times you just seize. Yes, I'm feeling a little giddy tonight

Now you're talking James! You won't be dissapointed with the 1001RBII. It can do super clean and if you want some grit, the boost control is pure goodness. GK is also coming out with a Tube Pre and a Tube/SS Hybrid amp..........shamus63 said:If it wasn't for the fact that I'm ready to order a new Ray (TB w/MHS; H), I'd yell "UNCLE!!"
