I don't know of any open season for chickens. Besides, I've never been out hunting and seen a chicken roaming through the forest.

Your squirrels must be considerably larger than the ones we see here in the Pacific Northwest. I don't think there would be anything left of the squirrel if you hit it with a 22 (let along a shotgun).

...probably should leave it at that. I'm afraid that this OT hijack, which is bad enough, might turn into some kind of hunter/PETA debate.

No debate over hunting them. I was more interested in whether you actually eat them. Chicken huh?

.22 and a head shot is the sport around here, you need 6 or 8 for a big breakfast. They are out of season now so we go with the frozen ones for now. The do not taste like chicken at all, its a flavor all of its own and they are very good, and good for you too.

I don't get to eat them much since my Dad died, my great grand dad took two shotgun shells with him every morning and always came back with two or more grey's for breakfast. I sure miss them.

Back to the gathering,

We are all setup and ready to go, it's going to be a big hillbilly shindig, y'all shoud come!:D

I'm sorry but the visual here is just too dang funny.

I think I'm beginning to understand your user name. :D Frozen ones?

Have a great party! If I lived on the right coast I'd be there in a squirrels heartbeat.
