Craig, might I suggest something in an auto-loading 12 gauge?
looks like Mr. Ed has a bit of redneck in him too. ;) although i second his motion
its pretty rad. easily keeps up with my previous $10,000 studio bass chain, tube adl 300g direct box, tube vintage telefunken v72's (same pre the beatles used up to abbey road), urei 1176 compressor, urei eq, to 2" tape. it sounds as good, and in some ways better than that rig. you can def get some nice overdrive from the tube stacks, or just nice warmth. very versitle. i had really high hopes, and am very impressed with it.

interesting in that the chain you described is high end solid state components for the tweaking of the sound (eq, di) and tubes for the amplification of the signal, which, ironically, is what Markbass is touting w/ the studio pre.

good work on the gear. dig!

i meant with a p.a.. i assume most people here knew i meant that, since the beatles were the last band i know of to attempt stadiums without one (which didnt go so well), and few of this boards members were alive then. most concerts i go to, do in fact hire out a system. that being said, i have played stadiums with an amp not as loud as this, and not been in the pa, at all. so either way i win. valiant effort though.

If you played a stadium with a single 15 and no PA support, and you were actually heard, you did win. Please share some of that alchemical magic, good sir.

thats a v impressive delivery. I once played my HH ray through an MB F1 500 and the sound was incredibly fat - the 800 should blow the glorified roadie out of the room. Im looking forward to the sound samples. Did they send guitar stands with the gig bags :D

this is just the studio preamp. i have plenty of lightweight power options if i want it to go to 11. that being said, im pretty dang head over heals in love with the way the lm tube 800 sounds for live (and or studio). with the superbooster and distortion pedals in front, this thing will sound exactly like my old eden rig, or an old svt on stun, or anything in between. cant wait to hear what the classic300, f500 and the momark bring to the table. they have a long way to go to beat the lm tube 800.

The MoMark is gonna blow you away Sir. The tube pre + graphic eq + mvvl in the 500 watt analog chassis is probably still my favorite amp of all time. I haven't spent a lot of quality time with the LMT 800, but I think you might be hard pressed between the two. Put it on top of a 4x10/2x10 + 1x15 stack and you'll be a happy boy!

I'd love to hear your thoughts and comparisons on the two eventually though.

this tube little mark just stomps every other amp i have ever owned (and i have owned some nice ones). i can get anything out of it. vintage mccartney, no prob, sly and fam, no prob. bad company, no problem. remarkable. this one amp could do 99% of everything i would ever need to do, with style, and ease. about to launch into the studio pre now. frightened!

Time to resurrect this thread. So Craig, you in turn have been a bad influence on me. You planted the seed of a Markbass Little Mark Tube 800 in my head. So I had to get one. Loving it. It is not an in-your-face tube, just sweetens up the tone beautifully.
