Coffee + new bass excitement = unable to sit still.

Jack, I've got a single H Big Al on the way as well. I bought it before playing it, and I'm mega, super, awesome excited. The coffee is exacerbating the situation, keeping me from practicing.

Let's post our findings, hey?

People of Earth! If fortune smiles upon me, I should have a Big Al 5H before the weekend.

I'm REALLY excited about this one!

I've got a lot of crappy not-fun-at-all stuff on my agenda today, but there are good things in my life, too, and I'm busily appreciating them as I have my coffee.

Jackie

So Congrats!!! You are a lucky man!
I will have to wait for mine until November, but therefor it will sparkle in a different way...

My, my, Mister Beagles, that's the tiniest bass I've ever seen.

People of Earth! If fortune smiles upon me, I should have a Big Al 5H before the weekend. (Could be Monday but I'm going to think positive.)

BP says this is the best single H they've ever built. Now I trust Mister Poppa way more than I trust most inhabitants of the planet, so I am looking forward to comparing this one to the best single H "I" have, the Candy Red Bongo 5h. That is going to be FUN.

Also, public thanks to Dargin and BP - you know why.

And although I am Lord Bongo and I do seem to have a small herd of Music Man basses, each with their own charm and history and place in my heart, I am just like anyone else here when it comes to a new bass.

Especially one I've never tried.

I'm REALLY excited about this one!

I await your comparative take on the Bongo/Big Al/H/SSS Venn diagram with great antici.....

Looking forward to pics and review as well.

One of these days I may be able to afford a new MM bass but for right now I'll just live threw your eyes Jack.

There is a Big Al in my future and I was pretty much counting on the 3 single coils just for something different. Maybe you will pull me the other way.

I know I may be out of touch with newer MM basses but I'm still in the camp that thinks the 30th single H is the top notch H. At least in my stable it is.

Changed the strings (those are EB flats on there now), installed the only straplocks worth owning and plugged it in briefly to tune it up and adjust the action after the string change. (Turns out it was fine.) (I mean, I did have to tune it - should I call Customer Service?)

I'm on baby duty so don't have time to really play until later tonight. Even briefly, though, I can tell this is a sound I'm going to like. A LOT. A neodymium magnet pickup, 18v preamp - what's not to like?

Feels good. Looks like a million bucks. More later.

Heck ya! That IS the JW special right there! Looooove it!

I've played a SSS but never a BA H... What do you think of it kind sir?

@adouglas: LOL, I was wondering what you were gonna put for neodymium, classic.
