I know a guy who would love that for his collection - honest !!

Jeez, what did all that writing say on the plate that bolts the neck on ????

I can arrange that:cool: , you wont believe that, it actually says that is made in Russia, The first 5 lines is name of the country, city, and the next 6 is name of the company that produced it, then it says elektrogitara (so you cant mix it with ia piano or smt) nad the best part - price! 185 rub, it was cheap actually:D :D

I was kidding:D , just so you know, they (Ural) had a model with a one or two pickups more, and 4-5 more switches and knobs, later on Brian May nicked the idea...

My first electric was a second hand Washburn KC40V in cherry red. The orinal owner had put an unnamed Seymour in the bridge and an Ibanez V2 and S2 in the neck and middle position. I loved that guitar for years. Traded that and my '89 Jem in for a '04 Universe and regretted it for teh 9 months I owned the Uni, before the Luke arrived and life got so mcuh better...

First guitar was an Epiphone Explorer copy with a detuner (a.k.a. Kahler tremolo) bought used for around $250 in 1986. It was destroyed a couple years later when, unbeknownst to me, the bassist in my band allowed the superintendent of my school to borrow it for a school lip-synch contest. Apparently the imbecile dropped it while doing a Pete Townsend wannabe move or something, and snapped the headstock clean off.

Of course my parents were at the time employees of the school in question, so I had grit my teeth and graciously accept the $100 or so payment he offered in compensation. Luckily my main guitar was a 1980 Les Paul Custom by that point, but I was extremely pissed, to say the least. Thinking of that still makes me fume.

The earliest guitar that I still own is my black 1989 Ibanez RG-550. Finally got around to cleaning all the rust off the hardware and updating the pickups in it this year (DiMarzio Steve Special, Blue Velvet, Air Norton). Still plays like a champ.
