This is stressful!

Trevor Rabin.......Where I would love to be as a musician. My all time fave.
John Petrucci......The release of Awake back in 1994, my guitar epiphany.
Mark Tremonti......He plays and sounds like Mark Tremonti, quite simple really.
Chris Leuzinger....Session man extraordinaire; on all my fave Garth songs.
Brad Paisley.......The man that kept Vince Gill out of my top 5.

I have to say there were an awful lot of players mentioned and everyone on this board has great taste as there are all serious heavy hitters listed.

I would just like to throw in my all time favorite country players who very well may have the best chops of all, but because I do not own a lot of country music get overlooked.

In no order
James Burton
Albert Lee
Chet Atkins
Brent Mason
Vince Gill
Brad Paisley
Keith Urban

Sticky you have Mark Tremonti on your list and I just want to say I like that pick and have a lot of respect for that guy as a player. The guy made a fortune writing some really good riffs and songs and could of sat back in his mansion for the rest of his life. But I love that he wanted to be the best player he could be and made no bones about taking lessons and learning from some of the most gifted players on the planet. Now that shows a true love for the instrument.
