Hello all,
I've had my JPX 7 string for a few months now, and I'm just not digging the bridge pickup in it. It could be the chambering that's giving it a characteristic not suiting for my playing style. It doesn't have enough bite on the low end. I also have a Majesty 7 string that I love, but I'm not sure if the Illuminator would work the same in the JPX7. Have any of you swapped pickups in this guitar?
I'm looking for a very tight sounding pickup for metal. Dare I say "djenty/progressive?" This particular axe stays in drop G. Thanks in advance for the advice.
Side note - I have had the Majesty in drop G before and it had a great tone in that tuning. I would like to get that same cutting, tight tone for my JPX. This is because the JPX has been slotted specifically for 10-64 strings. Thats why I don't use the Majesty in drop G instead.
