I like the SKB for storage because they're slightly more stackable than the old Fender style cases.

They're an irritating middle ground for gigging. Too bulky to lug around town but not sturdy enough for airplane cargo travel. I was very happy with the transition.

I wish I had mono cases instead of the old bulky hard cases. ( if anyone in the UK wants to swap , let me know. I have Cutlass, Valentine, Axis and Albert Lee cases ) I have a Reunion Blues Gig Bag that I use when I gig, no room in my car for the hard cases.

I just got my first Mono case with my Matcha Green Axis. I was expecting to dislike it because I really like how the plastic rectangular cases store easily and neatly and I worried that the Mono might be flimsy. I was pleasantly surprised with how well padded the interior of the Mono is and how sturdy the bag itself is. I like the Mono case.

I dont think so, but pretty sure you can get something similar, believe Sweetwater carries them

Gator GTSA-GTRELEC ATA Molded Guitar Case with TSA latches for Strat & Tele Style Electric Guitars

This case from Sweetwater is a perfect fit for an Axis. I have one and I love it.

I'm mostly on the indifferent spectrum. I prefer Gator Transit gig bags anytime I'm bringing a guitar/bass out (similar to a Mono Sleeve but better form factor IMO). Like almost everyone else has already pointed out, I find the hardshell cases are easier to stack both horizontally and vertically in the inevitable "guitar case closet". I don't think it’s a big enough deal to kill the Mono cases over, but I get it.
Same, I like the hard case at home and locally, and the Gator Transit as carry-on on planes. They have good protection, shoulder straps, and fit in the overhead or in the front locker on the airplane. The mono cases are pretty nice, but they don’t have a shoulder strap and they’re too wide for airplane carryon.

I like the idea of the Mono case and wouldn't mind getting one with my next Music Man guitar. I have a Suhr that came with their gig bag and it is outstanding. Protects the guitar well and is easy to tote around. In fact, I have been using it to tote my Music Man guitars around at times since it is less bulky than their cases.

I have a Kaizen, which came with the Mono case/bag hybrid and I just got a Cutlas with the older style hard case.

Both are fine and there is no quality issue with either, but I also have a Mono M80 bag here, and I personally prefer something like that. I'll probably use that when taking the Cutlass out of the house, and keep the Kaizen in it's original case, which it fits perfectly.

The new MM Mono case is almost as big as a Mono dual bag and doesn't have shoulder straps, so it's functionally the same as a hard case.
