Hey Rockin Ray,
EB strap locks where I can use the original long screws! Awesome idea! Can't wait to see them.![]()
We know EBMMs are tough... for those who remember, I posted back in May about my irate drummer friend who punted my bass (in gigbag) across the floor after he accidentally tripped over it while not looking where he was going. If they can make it through that, they can make it through anything.![]()
Last night after the last tune, I hopped down to talk to the people at our table and since it was right there, kept my bass strapped on. I slung it around behind my back, something I've done about a billion times before, and the straplock by the bridge just let go. I never had a chance.
The brand new 30th Anniversary Stingray bounced off the hardwood floor. What a horrible noise that is.
I inspected it quite thoroughly this morning and I can't find any damage. Maybe a little tiny thingy by that bottom strap button, but it doesn't really look like much at all. The pickguard seems to have been scratched, but hey, it's a pickguard. Other than that - nothing.
Built like a tank. Unbelievable. What tough instruments! Photos in a bit.

The sound of a falling bass/guitar is second only to the sound of your child falling down the stairs - stomach through the floor! Glad she's OK, Jack
Can't wait to see the straplocks, BP - I've had a couple of close calls and have been thinking about them.
... I slung it around behind my back ... I never had a chance ...
... I do make it a habit ... every time I change basses ... But hey, I could have forgotten ...
