No worries, to each his own! The flash on the camera actually brings out a ton more flake/sparkle in the finish compared to what it looks like from a few feet away. From across the room, the finish looks more like a darker, metallic brown - to my eyes, a low-key, funky 70's vibe.

Trans green and tort? For reals, Jay?

but I do really kick myself for not being 'in the loop' and getting this combo:

I was ignorant of metalflake brown but it is gorgeous. I think burnt apple is also a great color. Everytime I think about it I want a bass in that color. How about a burnt apple Sterling 5 HS with matching headstock? I could fork over some serious coin for that combo. It's good to see all the colors that are no more -- not because they're gone, but because they're so darned cool.

The appeal of metalflake brown eludes me. That purple thingy, though: I'd totally buy one.

That's no mirror - either a metal or metal-looking copper-washed beauty.

Copperhead Bronze was the Sterling combo I discovered in GC - "the" bass that brought me to EBMM. It was perfect in my hands and in tone.

(I was not mature enough to give the Bongo a look at that time!).

I "visited" that Sterling a few times ove a week or so and I struggled with the color. I ultimately opted to order a Sterling in a more conservative color, thinking if I bought the copper bass I'd wake-up a few years down the road and wonder "What was I thinking!?"

What was I thinking!?

For all you white sparkle fans, a lined fretless sr4 just popped up on ebay. I posted it in the ebay/craigslist thread. Bit steep on the price though.
