We had a "Come to Jesus" meeting this evening

Judging by the title, one might infer that those meetings would be a joyful occasion, but they never are. I've been to Jesus a few times myself.

Alright. Let's get this figured out. If anyone is landing at PSP, let me know the time and if I can fly in around that time, maybe we can hitch a ride and save some dough.

If anyone is flying out of PSP on Sunday, same deal. Let me know the time.

I go to freakin' The Police concert and fares go up while I'm gone. Another great show. 11th row.

Please post your flight times if you are interested in cabbing it together, or if you have a car.

Please change my vote from maybe to no. I could not fix the old dryer, the motor was shot. So we now have a new dryer in stead of a trip for two to the desert.:(. My wife was more excited about it than I was (outlet shopping). I would like thank BP and the crew for a wonderful invitation. Your generosity goes beyond words. I was hoping this trip was going to loosen her up towards me buying more EBMM basses. Oh well ....
To the rest of you , have a wonderful time.

I want to come to this great event with every fiber of my being, but as Curtis said in the Blues Brothers movie, “boys, things are bad.” :(

Better put me in the “maybe” category, and that’s a stretch. Believe me; I’d like to get as far away from NC as I can… we’ll see.

Come to think of it, I don't technically own a car at all anymore. My truck belongs to my boss, and my wife's van is in her name. I am no man. Gee whiz.

Maybe Tyler and I will hitchhike to California. His mom would love that. Otherwise, we really are tapped out. 'Scuse me while I go sob into my pillow for a minute or two.

we could take andy's car!!! He will never know!

Questions!

I am planning a Thursday arrival and LAX seemes to be my only option based upon timing and $$$ so...

Does anyone know the time of the Thursday Toto show?

What kind of traffice / trip time am I looking at from LAX to La Quinta?

And similarly, what kind of Sunday drive time will I be likely to find for the return?

Advise / experience appreciated, as this will allow me to make the best flight choices.

And Chuck - hope to see you again.

And Ben - listen to Tyler - he's got a plan!

The Toto concert is scheduled to start at 6pm, here's the website for more info: Coachella Valley Concerts - Live Rock, Desert Rock (click on "see poster") for the official poster.

Hmm, drive time from LAX to La Quinta: depending on what time of the day, it could take you anywhere between 2 and 4 hours. Try to avoid getting on any freeway in the LA area after about 3:30pm and stay off of them until about 7pm, unless you plan on tacking on a lot of time for traffic.

Argh. I won't be able to make it. I have a prior commitment (and already purchased plane tickets) in NYC that weekend.

Next year, though.....I'm there.

:eek:Ouch:eek:, I since I'm driving in from Vegas and leaving around noon on that Friday (it's only a 4hr 25 min drive estimate on Mapquest) it looks as if I would be getting on the I-10 East at about 3:30pm is that a major LA freeway? Am I going to be in need of a adult beverage as soon as I check in? Should I take some anti-road rage meds?

If so, any of you Cali folk can point me to a different route, it would be appreciated

Pug, you can take the back route (wooooOOOOOooooo - as in the Where You Get Kidnapped By Aliens Route). It spits you out on the I-10W just east of the Coachella Valley. I think the 95S and 177 highways are in there somewhere. I'll check it out and get back to you. I've found that there's little to no traffic this way getting to Vegas, but can be a little creepy.

I usually just shoot down I-95 out of Vegas all the way through Needles, then 62W, then head west/south on 177 to Desert Center, which is on I-10, then take I-10 West and drop down into the Coachella Valley. If you take I-15 to Barstow, you risk traffic and then you have to backtrack about 1 hour east.
