Yeah - I talked to the resort and they said not all the paperwork had been returned to them - so they could not book rooms yet.

Just got my flight - in Thursday 9/27 at about 10:30am to Palm Springs. Anyone for golf Thursday afternoon before the Toto concert? And maybe Friday morning?

Unfortunately Mrs. Eggman will not be joining me.

My wife and I are flying in Tues so we can do a little sightseeing before the Toto concert. Should we all arrange for a meeting spot at the Toto concert? Sounds like several folks will be coming in for it...

Hey MikeVT,

PM me if you'd like any ideas for things to see and do in and around the Coachella Valley. It's great that you'll have more time to check this place out.

Everyone, we should have booking capabilities by tomorrow. Thank you for your patience!

-Beth :)

Palm Springs to Vegas, about 4 - 4.5 hours. (the back way - averaging about 80mph)

Vegas to LAX? Never done it before, but without any traffic, I'd say about the same.

Thanks Beth and Kevin. I'm going to have Mrs. MikeVT shoot you a PM. She's handling the sightseeing portion of the tour. :p

Jeez stanky Hijackk away.

Slo shep it is still a few weeks away and you just have to drive.... and one nights hotel....Im payin for the rest

Ok, BP, I will not make any rash decisions yet. The one thing that could totally torpedo us coming is my daughter's 6th grade camp outing to Hume Lake. It happens right around that time. I should know no later than the Aug.21st what the dates are. Again, your generosity is beyond words.

A tour of the string factory! I used to be obsessed with strings and tone, but I'm much better now.:p

seriously peeps... travelocity is pretty broken right now. my reservation failed 3 times (got charged for em each time) and after the final successful reservation my itinerary page is broken too.

its 9:15pm PST right now... i highly suggest you not use travelocity right now. im sure the charges are just auth's and that'll get cleared up but it was a horrid experience

Too cool, BP. #2 son and I are very excited by this.

By the way, I booked by calling the hotel directly on Friday. I mentioned "Ernie Ball", they knew what I was talking about, gave me the EB rate, and sent me a confirming e-mail. I don't know why Eggman got a different story from them today...

It is the La Quinta Embassy Suites, right?

I did, but found that one leg of the trip was always unpleasant. Like a 4 hour lay over in lax, etc. The saving would have been $30. Not great in my book.

Looked at travelocity. It was actually cheaper to book directly with United than going through travelocity. Who knew. In my case, travleocity was $25 more than direct booking.

Expedia was having problems with their site when I was trying to book. I did a search after the fact, Expedia was $5 more than direct booking, due to handling fee.

I don't know nothing 'bout no young Texas blues player, but I do know that if you don't jam with me, I'm going to cry. Learn some Elvis!

Probably cuz I just found the post that said not at the Fantasy Springs Casino - but at La Quinta Emabassy Suites. Duh..........no wonder the FS had no idea what I was talking about.

Will call for a room today!
