Serial Numbers : What is the production date of my guitar?

My bassist would like to know when his Sunburst Sterling was born, the serial is F01 178

Well since you are a likely a guitarist, I suppose we can make an exception to to the "no-bass" rule here - - your bass player's Sterling was completed on March 22, 1999 and was shipped to France.

Stefano, nice guitar! This original Luke was completed on May 9, 1996 and was originally sent to a Guitar Center store in the U.S.

I just got a mint used JP6 Pearl Redburst and the info was not available to me.

sure - you can give us the serial number and we can look it up and give the information.

As I've explained before, there is no "secret code" or mathematical pattern to our serial numbers. While sometimes it is possible to make a good guess, there is only one way to know for sure - ask!
