Hi, just this minute joined this forum.
Ive also just performed my first gig with my new Stingray last night. Its a SR4, in deep red trans colour (including the headstock), Maple neck and headstock, Rosewood frets, and the serial number on the backplate is E58734. Its beautiful!

You bass was completed on 3/14/07 and was shipped to Portman's Music Center in Savannah, Georgia.

msr, certainly! This bass, an HH in Lava Pearl, was completed on October 4 2005 and was shipped to our Australian distributor.

Sure no prob - the correct info on this then would be - completed 5/30/06 and shipped to Guitar Center's central warehouse.

Makes a little more sense - I didnt catch that because both those serial numbers referred to a 30th Anniversary SR - but I did wonder - - thanks for clearing us up!

Hi I live in uk I recently got myself a mm stingray. Not sure if it's pre ernie ball, serial is B027126. I also heard Duff McKagen owned it before. It has a dark natural finish and a 1 piece birds eye maple neck. I took the neck off to see the date stamp. Can't make out if it says 1980 or 1988. I can see that it says 7th december. Can anyone out there help me to id it? Thanks

Rod Trussbroken (Gavin), one of our moderators, has a great website for reference: Home - Musicmanbass.org, Music Man, Musicman, Music Man Bass, Musicman Bass, Music Man Guitar - Though not an "official" site, he has a lot of good info on there, check it out. Also, I would expect Gav to weigh in on your bass anytime now ....

My "new" Stingray has the serial number 33159 on the bridge, which would seem to make it circa '91 or early '92 by looking at the database. Can EB provide a DOB or do I have to pull the neck and take a look?
