This head is quite new to me, as my old ashdown blew up (yeah yeah, but i don't care), it sounds great, not wooly at all like some people think ashdown are and it really cuts through in my metal band. With just a hint of the valve drive it gives it a really great snarl, i love it!

Not much aguilar love here?
I just sold my ampeg 8x10 and currently have one DB112.. Im on the verge of adding a second DB112

But what if its not enough? Im used to the 8x10. I really like aguilar 12s but Im not sure what to do. I might trade my DB112 in on a 2x12 and then add another cab later, I was moving away from 10's but I think another 2x12 would be kind of weird because Ill have two of the exact same cab. So if I did add it would be a 4x10.

What should I do?
2 DB112s
or
1DB212 + POSSIBLE DB410 later on..

Nice! I've been looking for an EVO II 300 for awhile now. Bummer they discontinued it. The 500 II is too much juice for me. But the 300 is just right.

It's definitely a nice amp, if you have no problems buying used, keep your eye on ebay or talkbass or whatever, they come up fairly regularly and pretty cheap too. I think i paid somewhere in the region of £220-£240 for mine (i honestly can't remember)

Is that a cab with a 15 inch and second cab with two 10 inch? I think that's what I am trying to accomplish. My combo has one 15 inch so I am making a cab with two 10 inch speakers to go with it. What does it sound like when you only run it with the 15 inch speaker? Less defined??

my setup

Stingray-> SWR 350x-> Ampeg PR210H +Ampeg PR15H.

Very cool modern tone, as the Ampeg PR series amps were their attempt at a high-fi cab. When I want to get more vintage, I use a Tech 21 VT Bass Pedal, works like a charm.

That's exactly what it is. The 15" on it's own does sound good, but like you say, it lacks a bit of high mid to high end definition, which the 210 definitely brings, though on it's own that lacks a little low end, so it's a great mix, though out of the two i would say the 210 is the better all rounder for what i play. It sounds good with both of them together.
