Right Jack he was enteraining the idea of making a forum only instrument. If memory serves me right.

Guys,
keep in mind how spoiled we were over the last couple of months...there were the all rosewood neck BFRs, the Dargie IIs, the 25th...this company never ceases to amaze and put out brilliant new stuff...and they'll continue to do so!
Plus, I never held a EBMM in my hands that wasn't a very special guitar even if it was just a regular production model!
I'm not sure whether it'd be fair to always demand something even more special...or a custom colour etc.
I have a hard time keeping up with all the amazing stuff happening lately as it is...
I never make any demands, I'm just a visitor here in the house of Ball.
As far as I am concerned, I wasn't demanding, not even expecting...it was just something pushed to the mental playground (or was it playground for mentals....???)![]()
how about a left handed Petrucci?!?!?!
oh wait got that already. i'm all set.![]()
Natural Ash. Just sweetA classic series Silo would get VERY excited.![]()
Wow! OK.NO the le does not return...Im sorry if Im testy but the constant badgering over the colors blows my mind.......HOw abou this pick a color and if you can get 25 people to order it I will make it. Put up or shut up time! NO custom options all the same model
Me too. Always very impressive. There is more fun here than when I would look through the Sears catalog when I was a kid.I am just happy seeing all the cool instruments that come out of the factory and on to the boards
You guys are never going to:
a. get 25 actual paying customers to agree
b. get 25 tire-kickers to agree
c. stop annoying the boss
d. all of the above
I believe I was part of that discussion, and as far as I remember, Sterling never said he was going to make a forum-only instrument. (See options "a" and "b" above to get a read on his reasons why not.) What did eventually come out of that discussion? The Dargies.
And the DDs were a rough idea ("let's see, green") that was then sketched in by Dargin et al and produced in a fairly standard manner, and even THEN there were guys bitching about the inlays and choice of fingerboard woods and so on.
Until very recently, there were nearly 30 standard colors to choose from. Some remain very popular. Some were not. It doesn't make sense to clean the guns, shoot one instrument in a color that only one guy ordered, clean the guns, go back to shooting what people are ordering en masse, etc etc etc. Lather, rinse, repeat. It makes no sense.
So while I am not going to leap about and yell, "Shut up! You're annoying the boss!", I might suggest reading my post over and over again until you think, "I wonder if I'm annoying the boss."
Especially if you are thinking about typing the word "sparkle" again.
Um, I should add: IMO.
Jack
I dunno, I don't feel very "spoiled" after all- we're still paying for these, it's not like they're being given away.
I don't have 27 color options as I'm not interested in anything but the JP7 BFRs. I had 8 color options, now only 4. And I only kinda like one of them. I actually liked all 4 colors that were discontinued. So I guess now I just don't feel spoiled about the one option that is somewhat appealing to me.
A lot of things that end up in a discussion never come to fruition. "Entertaining" the idea, maybe. The talks I had with him led me to believe that it was nothing more than kicking it around with the boys.
Until the DDs came along. Those were initially touted as 'forum only', but that really didn't make economic sense in the end.
You guys all frothing at the mouth are going to have to excuse me for being such a naysayer, and I have certainly learned to never say never when it comes to what will happen in the future, but I still say "D, all of the above".
As always, I stand ready to be corrected by Sir Biff.
Jack
LOL well said, what a thread, and i agree the answer is D!!!!!!!!!!
Man i have been on this forum for almost three years now, bought, owned and sold my share and seen lots of great cool stuff come about, colors, options, BFR's LE's new addtions etc. etc., sometimes I think we have become a spoiled bunch of brats never satisifed with the great stuff laid in front of us or the first looks at new stuff or the chance to get them before the general public and the openess of BP and his availability and availibility of his staff. EBMM offers way more than other companies while its OK to ask seems this happens ever fing day, lifes to short enjoy whats in front of you and yes many just kick the tires, realize EBMM is a business and has to make a profit, and if it aint profitable it aint getting made, i think they have a clue in the industry with what works and what does not.
Plus the economy is down, to get new stuff need to buy the old stuff, thats why colors are gone plus just go to dealers websites lots of great guitars been sitting on some of the dealers sites along time, supply and demand simple macro economics.
OK Rant Over.
Now how bout an Axis Super Sport Hot Rod Red with Peizo![]()
how about a left handed Petrucci?!?!?!
oh wait got that already. i'm all set.![]()
I was hoping for a Left Handed-exclusive BONGO GUITAR!!!!!![]()
