I already asked you the date of birth of my first stingray 20th Anniversary (serial n° 1 A 01193), I'd like to know to whom it was sold first.

I just purchased a second stingray 20th Anniversary (I'm kind of starting a collection of this model, I just love it, beautiful basses) and I'd like to know its date of birth, serial n° is A 01190. Is it possible to also have the name of the shop to which it was sold first?

s/n E47350. SR5 H Blk, Blk pg, Mpl neck. One strange thing is that under the paint below the neck plate is "Limited Edition 2005". Any info would be helpful.

They're meant as a ready-reckoner (only) and to give a rough idea of date. They're NOT a complete data base.

Serial numbers for Pre-EB Basses don't exist so a comparison with other dated Pre-EB serials should be helpful.

As Ernie Ball has it's own data base for all their instruments, the date of an EB instrument can be obtained by posting in this thread and quoting your serial number.

This one was done on 4/5/96 and since it was black, the wood would be Poplar at that time.

Hi and Welcome! DOB is 1/31/07 and it was shipped to Musique Richard Gendreau in Canada.

A01193 was first shipped to our Japanese distributor, Kanda Shokai
A01190 was done on 5/24/96 and shipped to Strings and Things in Memphis, Tennessee.

They definitely are special, being a limited edition! The value is really determined by what someone is willing to pay for it.

Hello, I'm having some problems with this post and apologize if it shows up twice. I'm new to the forum and was wondering when my bass was made and if it is rare. I've never seen one like it anywhere on the web. It's a StingRay 5 HH Copperhead Bronze finish. Serial E53997. I Bought it new from a local store not GC so this color must not have been a GC exclusive.

Hi and Welcome to the forum! The finish on your bass is called Desert Gold and it was done on 2/15/07. This was not a GC exclusive and was available to order for all dealers. This color was not as popular as some of the others, but there are many instruments out there in Desert Gold. Maybe not too many with the exact specs that you have though. We don't give out our production numbers but we did discontinue the color in August 2008.

I was wondering if you could tell me where my bass was originally shipped and also if it is any kind of special edition (I see the 'A' prefix is popular with these) and any other info would be greatly appreciated.
