anyone ever heard this?
Hmmm, nope, but sounds like she might have a future.

. . . or a past.![]()
I'm going to learn that bass line and play it on every song!
Freddels I hope you dont mind but you sort of teed up something...
The concept of pointing out whether Jewel is still relevant is not reflective of her talent. It is a horrible statement of the music business. SInger songwriters are sort of doomed. Production and exposed body parts and hype are a more current formula. People Like Lisa Loeb who is a dear friend of mine are sort of in the same box. The market left her behind She still works and makes beautiful music but she is not the flavor of the month now.
Look at the you tubes of Lady Gaga before she decided to adapt her career to Madonna 101. (NOt slamming Madonna...a true machine that still has a mystique into her 50's)Actually quite good...homely girl at the piano cant get arrested. But new name, garish outfits...headlines, exposed body parts All to sell her music. Britney Spears took the class and melted down, and now Hannah Montana is in her freshman year of Madonna 101.
In the time since that Jewel record...(I called it a record!) There was still a little radio...the last traces of it....Between SFX Clearchannel...Satellite all force fed homogenization for our sonic palate backed by viral shots of supposed private leaked sex tapes/nipple slips....THere were still record stores who looked like grandpa jones running a 10K...they collapsed to give way to wal mart end caps....Only to be sort of rescued by Steve Jobs..... Andf then Irving Azoff and his mafia decided to monopolize management, agents and tickets and venues.
BTW Luke is in Spain today on a whirlwind highly successful promo tour. Toto has sold 80 million records....They have yet and never will be nominated into the rock n roll hall of fame. They couldnt tour USA without paying to play.
So Freddels your two world past struck a chord that is now going to be my next blog post. Thanks!
TOne is out with Frampton
cyoung, I'd imagine I'm not the only one that'd be interested in seeing a list of other songs/artists you've worked on/with.
