Anyone else ditch their strap locks and go back to their regular strap buttons?

Has anyone had any luck with Hennessey locks? I have a set I bought a couple years ago and never installed, they seem pretty well built but I don't know anyone who has actually used them.

I’m a bit surprised that no one has mentioned this. Instead of modifying your guitar by changing your strap buttons, I highly recommend trying a Lock-It guitar strap (Lock-It Guitar Straps - Home). The locking mechanisms are in the leather end pieces and are very thin but very secure. Prices range from $20 for nylon with leather ends to $70 for all leather. You can find them at Sweetwater and on eBay.

I use the Planet waves locking straps, they work great and no need for adding removing parts.

Ouch !! my experience of the planet waves locking straps was shocking.
I bought one when I got my first Albert Lee, and the guitar fell off the strap several times - thats why I got my money back on the strap and went to using Dunlop strap locks.

Maybe they have improved them?

I almost bought the Planet Waves but I finally decided on the Lock-It straps because I liked the leather end pieces. Plus they are made in the USA!

They may have improved or I have just been lucky up to now!

My EBMMS do have DiMarzio Cliplocks, so no need for Security Locks. But another of my guitars does have now 2 rubber washers from beer bottles. imho the best security Locks. Had Schaller-Security-Locks before and always trouble with loose screws...

Yep, one of our reps was in with those yesterday, very cool idea and extremely durable. I did the "Yngwie" with one of my JPs and it was rock solid.

No modifications needed, no worries about plastic scratching the guitar, and Made In USA.

I've never really needed them. My stap is always on my guitar and fits in the case when it's attached. It fits pretty snug and I won't be doing any "guitar spins" anytime soon.

I used the EB straplocks for awhile, but went bag to the original pegs. I use the heavy 4" Levy strap and I just leave it on all the time; it fits well in the case, and has never come close to slipping off.
