Hey guys, just bought a previously owned Sterling 5. S/N F25014 What is the manufacture date of this bass? Is it also possible to find out if this is a production model and if it isn't how many were made?

That is a standard 3 EQ stingray 4 in black, maple neck, ash body completed on June 18th, 2002

This is a standard Sterling 5 HH in black with an ash body, rosewood fretboard, matching headstock completed on April 7th, 2010. We still make these.

Hey AJ, thanks for your quick reply. I am slightly confused. This bass has an ebony fretboard, all black hardware, unfinished maple neck and a graphic on the back. Is it possible the neck could have been swapped out at a later date? I attached a few pictures.

Your bass is definitely black sparkle and it was completed on June 19th, 2002.

Looking closer at this the bass was shipped to an artist so its possible that over the years parts were swapped, etc.

That serial number belongs to a Sterling completed on February 25th, 1994.

January 21st, 1994 The body is probably ash or alder. Your English is very good!

Your English is good! The bass was completed on April 10th, 1992.

OK, I am a schmuck - it's E90903 !!!! Sorry, am sure that leaving off that first letter was the REAL problem... thks, Danny
