Hi Joel,

Thanks a lot for the information! In my case the body does not seem to have a date stamp in the neck pocket/pup cavity (it is not my bass, but one that I was considering to buy and only the body is being sold). Does that sometimes happen with pre-EB stingrays? Is there any other way I can figure out whether the body is authentic?

Have a Stingray 4 natural finish - unlined fretless serial number is 43093.
Any info about it would be great.

It's difficult to say since it was made before Ernie Ball took over the company. E-mail some photos or a link to the ad to [email protected], we'll check it out. Just a heads up, our necks are proprietary, so aftermarket neck options would be the only thing available if they aren't selling it with the original neck.
