Hello Everyone

This is the original thread Help! - After 15 Years I finally bought a JP 15 and it's in really bad shape.....

I am creating a second thread as it's a different guitar with different issues....

What on earth is this quality on the music man's JP15 ??

So this guitar came with 3 new issues,

1. My Saddle's are rusting.
2. It has a scratch
3. It crackles every time I move the bridge.

I will return it again but now I do not know what to do.... should I order a 3rd one and hope it is perfect ?

Did this come from Music Man? Or stock from Thomann? Either way, I would return it. That's not acceptable on a new guitar.

I would put the pressure on Thomann to get you one that's perfectly functional and blemish-free (assuming you want to try again ... which I personally would). They should be inspecting the instrument before sending to you. That's part of their job as the distributor. If there are issues that need to be dealt with, they should be working with MM without having to get you involved.

That is not a new guitar. I mean, maybe it was never sold, but that has been on display and used in a store for a long time. No saddles come from the factory rusting. Look at the trem post -- it has signs of wear. That leaning backwards trem is also not a factory setup. I see picking scratches in that photo. Honestly, it frustrates me to blame this on EBMM when OBVIOUSLY the factory did not ship a brand new guitar with rusty parts. I have 305 EBMMs (literally) and have never seen these kind of issues.

It came directly from Thomann they did not opened it as it just arrived at their Warehouse at thomann from Music Man. I really do not know what to do to be honest as being the 2nd guitar with issues it's so hard to trust it again :( ....

Looks like some of the ship crew took it out on the trip over and had a schwang... Seriously, I think at this point I'd be looking for another dealer, or maybe a weekend road trip to a shop where you could put hands on.
