I can never offer enough thanks to BP and crew. I had a total blast for sure. The one thing I was worried about Sterling took care of right away. He made my wife enjoy every minute of the trip.

She isn't overly fond of loud music. Well I guess that is loud when I play :) She never had a problem with the Allstars. :)

Sure we can't all agree for Jack to turn 50 twice?

Jack it was a complete pleasure to be able to attend. Erika, did a wicked job and should be commended for her part.

It was great to see everyone and spend sometime together.

Funny--I was two hours late, and I'm creaky. Of course, I drank quite a bit, too....


I've tried to start a thread thanking everyone, but the words don't want to come out in anything other than a stream-of-consciousness-Borroughs-style mess at this point. So many good memories from such a short time.

Truly a remarkable experience that would have been worth it at 5x the price.
 
A big thanks from the Eggman for allowing me to share in this experience. I enjoyed finally getting to put faces with screen names.

I was impressed with the level of musicianship of all that performed - I am sure there was some great talent in the crowd as well.

I hope we get the opportunity to get together again very soon.

Hey BP - I turn 50 in 3 years.:D
 
This whole weekend was just amazing!

I just wish it had lasted a little longer so I could have gotten to know a few more folks a little better.

Thanks to everyone involved in putting on this party. Especially Erika, Sterling, Jack and the whole crew at EBMM. I know you all worked your fingers to the bone and you did a fantastic job. No one wanted for anything while they were there. What great hosts and hostesses you all are.

Maybe we can do it again sometimes.

(We can hope, can't we?) :)

I love reading your posts, the perfect mix of humor, thoughtfulness and gratitude.
Happy Birthday once more and thanks for having us over.

Special thanks to Sterling, he knows why. But in case he doesn't, it's because he's such a warm hearted guy who just happened to jump on stage and when I was up there playing (term used loosely) my "sappy love ballad" as you refered to it. ;)

Loved having the guitar center guys and the crew from Ernie Ball there. We knuckleheads are indeed blessed.
 
Reading this thread really makes me sad that I was unable to attend. Jack, it seems like one hell of a birthday to remember. I have been playing EB's most of my professional career as a bassist and stuff like this makes me proud of the instrument choices I have made. It really makes you feel good when you know there is quality behind the gear and that the company cares as much about the players as we do about the instruments.

Here's to many more years of EB and hopefully I will be able to free myself from obligations for the future get together.

Hello Jack,

I wanted to say again: "Thank you for giving me the honor of being at Erika and your B-day party" You're such a friendly, funny, and approachable guy.

BP: What a great time!!! SteveB went on and on about last year's SLO get together and all the great people he met. When I heard there was going to be another get together I couldn't miss it! He was right, you DO throw a 5 star, A1 party.

That BBQ was outta sight. The Cajun food reminded me of NO. Fabulous!

The music was great. I haven't touched my guitar in over 15 years but this weekend has inspired me to pick it up and give it a shot. You are all so talented.

And all the great people I met. Everyone was so nice eventhough I'd never met them before. Very nice to have met the BassMonkies, Tommy from Delaware, Glenn, Norm, Beth, Dudley, Dave LaRue, etc.. (Even with name tags my memory fails me!)

I was dragging ass tired today but everone who saw me said they didn't need to ask how my trip & weekend were. I've still got that stupid mischevious grin on my face. :D

Well, I don't know. It's my number one bass now. Single Hummer red Bongo 5 - what else do I need? It's been my main bass for a while now. So I had this little silver Sharpie (thanks, TKarter!) on my table and I thought, "Well, I never get Sterling to sign anything for me...."

And of course I was just a BIT tipsy and feeling expansive and loving everyone and the world was all warm and beautiful and - let's face it - as I believe enJoNeer said, "It's a love-fest in there."

So then there was Dudley (and I don't get tongue-tied around many people, but I always end up staring blankly at Dudley, thinking "My God, it's actually Dudley") so I thought "Well, Dudley, too, yeah!" And then the fever overcame me and it ended up signed by everyone in the general area.

And I'm not sorry at all except I don't know how to protect it. The back of the bass is covered with signatures and I don't want them to get smudged.

Anyone have any experience with this? I mean, I don't care about the 'value' of the bass, it's not going anywhere (true even before the signatures) but I still want to play it without losing the signatures.

I'll take some photos because it also needs to be decrypted a little, heh heh.

You are so very welcome. I'm glad you got to see what a great and giving and talented family we have here. This forum is special, and it's because of the inhabitants. Online communities are every bit as real as local communities as long as the inhabitants are real - and we are, we are.
