Well I always said that is why Pagey was a bit sloppy live as he wore his guitar below his balls.lol

You just have to be clever sometimes to come up with a solution as we all have little quirks we would like to change. I started out on a Tele so I have no problems with a guitar having no contour. But when I switched to Strat style guitars I felt like everything was in the way, especially the volume knob and middle pup. I read early on Blackmore and Yngwie hate the middle pup as it would get in there way of picking so they sunk it -one problem solved. When I would go to solo a lot of times I would knock the volume halfway down. I saw a video of the late great Danny Gatton playing a Strat and he removed the volume knob and pot and had it rewired, next day I did the same. I was in 7th heaven and thought why did I never think of that.

Certain players like certain things certain ways. Petrucci and Paul Gilbert like there volume and tone knob as far from the bridge as possible which is the way I would also like all my guitars. But sometimes a little imagination goes a long way and you have to adapt.

Problem solved, went to music store with intentions of getting another ebmm guitar till I tried this one.
Its a brand new 2005 model charvel san dimas, original floyd rose, duncan jb/59 P/Us, maple/oil finished neck, just as smooth and slick as the axis a bit thinner though witch I don't mind.
Sorry ebmm, but I do still have the sub1 which I plan on keeping, the rounded edge does'nt seem to bother me at all and I love the way this axe plays and sounds, all musicman guitars Are great and well built.
Thanks for all input on this thread guys,I tried to get over the forearm thing but could'nt, ever since I found it bothered me it bothered me worse if that makes any sense, kinda of a mental thing I guess.

Should've kept the Axis and use the armband. No way is the San Dimas even in the same league IMO.

Can't go wrong with a Charvel, my San Dimas was my favorite until my axis/ass necks ruined me on it.
Should eliminate your arm problem. And you got an original Floyd? not the Korean-made FR? That would be nice.

I really like this guitar, neck is really fast, love the sounds I get with it,also came with the hardshell case as opposed to the gig bags the new models apparently come with, they had this in the store for a few yrs and it was'nt selling,I coud'nt find anything wrong with it myself,I just have to get used to the floyd, never had one before, seems to keep tune very well and if I ever have problems with a asshole drummer i can stab him with the pointy headstock.

Yeah, with a pointy you always have to stay on the left side of the stage, or you might end up stabbing your lead singer when you turn around to tell your asshole drummer to slow down a bit.;) (why I've always preferred the strat-head charvels).

Someone had a pic on the front page of the forum of a blue axis with a forearm cutaway. Great mod bit I would be afraid of screwing up/tearing off the binding with a belt sander. Anyone have a link to the pic?
